[REC] 4: Apocalypse

Never had the chance to see the 3rd one. Sounded like it sucked. I might see this one.

Re: [REC] 4: Apocalypse

^ Third one did suck. Don't know if that trailer is legit, though. It only had footage from the first 2 films and none from the 3rd.

I'm hoping REC 4 goes back to its roots.

Re: [REC] 4: Apocalypse

3 was fun for what it was. I vaguely remember reading that 4 takes place after 2 and should follow the same characters (or situation, I guess).

Re: [REC] 4: Apocalypse

It is a legit trailer... This one takes place when they leave the house. That is what the tag line says. They just used a lot of footage from the first for the trailer.

Hoping it does too!

Didn't really like the third film. Wonder if they will go back to POV for this one.

I loved the first, hated the second, and skipped the third. I'm still debating if I'll see this one.

Re: [REC] 4: Apocalypse

I loved the third. It ditched the found footage angle early on and became a gloomy, atmospheric horror film bathed in crimson and full of nasty moments. Not sure why people shit on it so much. I had a lot of fun with it.

In fact, I'll give 4 a shot simply because I dug 3 wayyy more than I expected to.

Re: [REC] 4: Apocalypse

I liked 3. It had some silly bits but overall stayed true to what was established. That teaser is terrible, and I hope the old synopsis I read awhile back is wrong. Sounded terrible.

Because it was an incongruent mess. Some scenes were even played for laughs. It ended up being Evil Dead meets Monty Python. REC 3 shat on on part 1 and 2 in terms of continuity. Here's hoping 4 redeems the series.

Snake- Rec 3 is streaming on Netflix if you want to catch it.

I really liked 1 and 2, 3 goes in a different direction but it was watchable. Looking forward to this one.

Looks like we're back to form minus the found footage angle:

Re: [REC] 4: Apocalypse

As long as the characters don't behave like idiots (as they did in the second movie), I'll give this one a shot.

I just hope it's more consistent than 3.

hooray!

I liked 3 just for the sole reason the lead chick gets a chainsaw and delivers some truly juicy kills.

I hated 3 due to the inconsistency of what the monster(s) were and the fusion of humor into it. I still cringe at
Spoiler:
the scene where the fat and skinny guy dress up as knights and sneak around the place. It's something straight out of Monthy Python.

I also hated that
Spoiler:
the monsters went from demons to zombies even after their mythology had already been settled on.

1 & 2 are still two of best horror flicks of all time, imo.

Still waiting for US BDs of the first 2...

STILL haven't seen 3. But I'm game for Angela being back. Was she in 3 at all?

Might as well rent the dvds. I imported the first two. 3 is a prequel. Dude, 3 is still streaming on Netflix.

There are Region A BDs of all three flicks in Canada, although amazon.ca says 1-2 month delivery.

Re: [REC] 4: Apocalypse

Just saw 3. I liked it. I could do without the armor bit but I enjoyed it a good amount. Liked the ending.

So it's been a while since I saw the first 2... But seems like this one didn't muck with the premise of Tristana. She was still involved but... So she's like an infection? So that just adds to her, no?

All of the "infected"
Spoiler:
are one in the same. That scene in the mirror should have clarified it. The problem is that she's a demon, so the fact that the infected move around like george romero zombies pissed me off due to them hauling ass in the first two films. 3 is just so damn inconsistent.
