I found a goldmine on YouTube called Audience Reaction.

Real time audio of audience reaction of seeing a movie in the theaters. I think this is pretty cool. Some good memories here.

Remember that audience reaction audio track on the SIN CITY DVD? Holy fuck that was annoying. Buncha lame hipster nerds clapping, hooting, and guffawing at the most insipid of dialog, character entrances, credits, etc. I wanted to call in the Punchmaster on the lot of 'em.

^ I still haven't listened to that Sin City track but I'd bet they were told they were being recorded for an audience track. Unless it's a spontaneous, uninitiated response I don't care to hear it.


One of the few things I like about still going to the theater is when an audience gets into the movie. I try to plan my schedule for big Summer releases to coincide with opening weekend when the fans come out to see it.

Audience participation can be fun. It can be incredibly annoying when it's just a few yahoos though.

Favorite for me is still the bus scene in Final Destination. There's an audience clip somewhere but I can't find it. I saw it in a packed house and everyone collectively jumped at the same time. It was awesome.

100% agree. I've been to some midnight screenings that made the film even better thanks to the audience's enthusiasm.
