Mark Ruffalo is alot shorter than I thought. Tatum is like 6 ft, 6'1" maybe. Ruffalo must be 5'5"

Who's that guy next to Tatum in that 2nd pic? That's not Carrell is it? If it is, he's got some prosthetics there.

That fucking nose looks so weird to me. Damn. The film does sound interesting though. Sooooo anyone know much about what really happened for this story? I was 2 and probably watching WWF or Transformers...so I know nothing about this story.

He's a good actor. I just think he's an actor who very much needs a director to direct him. Like he may need to be explained to about how to bring about the inner workings of what needs to be accomplished.

Very good point. Not to mention... he's just been involved in a lot of "fun" movies at the start of his career that didn't really show any range...

I was super excited for Foxcatcher and this wound up being my most disappointing movie of the year. Video thoughts here:

Overall I felt the story lacked a lot of substance and interesting plot points. Sure a few noteworthy events occur, but nothing to base an entire movie around. The film drags on with a lot of characters, themes, and scenes which do little to nothing to advance the story. A solid 20-30 minutes could have easily been cut. The acting is good, but nothing all that extraordinary. Was nice to see Steve Carell do something a little different. Overall, if you're really into dark indies and/or wresting movies, give this a shot. For most casual moviewatchers though, I think they're not going to enjoy. 5.0 / 10

Sounds like it's slow burn clinical, like Capote and Moneyball.

maybe I don't remember Moneyball too well but... I don't remember it being "clinical" of a film.

saw this last weekend - Steve Carell will definitely be nominated - he gives such an eerie nuanced acting job
