Ryan Adams returns after a hiatus for a few years with a new solo record Ashes & Fire. The album comes out on Oct. 11 and he has a West Coast tour in early Oct. as well.

not quite a return to the HEARTBREAKER days but it's probably the best thing he's put out in years.

I'm surprised he took time out from fucking his wife to record a new album. I know I wouldn't stop.

Cold Roses was the height of his career. Hopefully, he doesn't digress to Heartbreaker.

I was just reading an old issue of Relix and Ryan Adams goes on and on about how he will never do another solo record. He will only work with the Cardinals, blah blah blah. He was pretty adamant about it. I guess I missed something along the way.

Not bad, although only 2 or 3 tracks stood out to me.

Strongly agree. Huge Ryan fan, but the Heartbreaker stuff, with the exception of Come Pick Me Up and Shakedwn, doesn't do much for me. Loved Cold Roses and Demolition (I know it didn't have a theme, but Chin Up is one of my favorite songs ever). Also have a strange affinity for Rock N Roll.

Haven't had a chance to listen to this one yet.

I wish he'd make another Heartbreaker. But that's why it's considered a classic.....very difficult to do.

His concert is coming to my town, but the cheapest ticket is $130 or $140, before fees. I like him but I'm not spending $300 to see him (price for two tickets).
