How do you watch TV season sets?

I've found that I need to stay committed to a single series and watch consecutively until I finish it. In some cases, watching a couple of hours a day, it can take months to complete a long series.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

Typically I'll watch a season at a time and bounce around from one show to another. Though there are a few seasons I've started and stopped because the interest wasn't there or I got busy and haven't made it back to them yet.

I like to commit to a series and watch it in marathon type runs.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

Typically, I prefer to go through an entire season before moving on to something else. Sometimes that's another season of the same show, sometimes it's another series. It really depends on the access I have to a given show. I've got all three seasons of Star Trek, as well as the animated series, but only the first three seasons of The Next Generation. I finished TNG season 3 early last year, but haven't gotten around to picking up season 4 yet. I wasn't about to not watch another season of another show just because TNG 4 isn't as easily (or inexpensively) found as I'd prefer.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

I will watch more than one show at once, but for example today I will be watching Star Trek Original Season 2 as well as One Foot In A Grave Series 3. Once I have watched them, I will just go through and watch favourite episodes from random seasons.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

One series at a time (all the way through) but we like to break it up by watching a movie every other night. We're always watching a series, but mixing it up like that we can get some of the movies watched too. -kd5-

I watch one episode per week, scheduling it as if it were on a Network.

(Which I call LSN - Little (Stinker) Network!)

I try to plow through seasons or series as fast as possible.. To me it's like one long movie and you don't forget the subplots.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

If I have never seen the show I 99% of the time I will watch it until I am finished, if it is show I have seen and has more episodic episodes then I will move around to whatever I feel like watching.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

I tend to always have a comedy series going while I am also watching a more serious one. Sometimes you need the break. It helps that I am a fan of british tv and am able to get through an entire 6 episode series in a night.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

My wife and I watch two series at a time, alternating, usually not more than one episode of each per night.
Currently we're going through Three's Company (now on Season 6) and Arrested Development (Season 2).

That's for comedies, of course. If it were a more involved dramatic series like Lost or The Shield or something, we'd probably stick to one.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

Seems like I barely have time to watch anything anymore being so busy with work. My days off I usually try to watch a disc or two of whatever series I'm on until I finish that season/series. I don't really like to stop to watch other things when I'm in the middle of a season. Currently I'm on Batman Beyond: Season 1.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

I tend to buy Volume 1 of anime TV series that sound interesting to me, with the plan to buy more volumes if I like Vol. 1. So now I've got a couple of shelf-fuls of first volumes waiting to be watched. Hopefully, the TV on DVD challenge in January will spur me to watch them. (I did watch one anime series that I'd blind-bought the complete collection of for the August Animation Challenge and I'm happy to say that I enjoyed it very much.)

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

Multiple, but one at a time per genre.

For example, recently I was working my way through a season each of Fringe (sci-fi), Mad About You (comedy) and White Collar (crime).

It's flexible gives me variety and I can still keep up with all of them with what I'm also watching weekly. It's also manageable in the sense that I won't abandon any of them. Get too many going and you end up losing interest in one or more, that's why I stick to one per genre.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

My current routine that I've done for awhile:

1. Watch 4 dvds of a tv series
2. Watch one disc of The 4400 (just cant stomach a lot of this series at once)
3. Watch one wrestling dvd
4. Watch a regular movie dvd
5. Watch a super hero movie or blu-ray
6. Watch 4 blu-rays of a tv series
7. Catch up on wrestling and tv shows on dvdr

Repeat cycle

Takes me about 3 weeks to get through a cycle so progress is slow. I never watch live tv anymore except for Raw and Survivor.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

Usually only do one season of a show at a time. When done with a season, I move on to another season of, usually, a different show. THe only time I usually go season to season fo the same show is if I have a complete series set of something.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

I usually go through a complete series before starting another. However, sometimes with long series I'll make small exceptions. For example, I've been working through the nine seasons of Seinfeld the past several months. I'm almost done, on season 9 now, but I have watched a season or two of other series in between, just for a break.

Re: How do you watch TV season sets?

Watch a season at a time, mixing up with other series
Basically I watch what I have. If I start a season I will stick with it until I finish it. However, some shows I watch with other people and they get mad if I try to watch it on my own so those go slow as I only watch when they're with me. Recently with CSI since all three shows go together and sometimes cross over I decided to get all three shows going. I jump back and forth between them now trying to keep them even / caught up with each other. But I am way behind on one and got tired of catching up so I started the other two newer ones anyway.

But yeah, start a season and finish it. But then I may try another show before going to the next season on that one so I don't get burned out or bogged down with just one show.
