2012 - Wow, this truly looks like an abomination.

This looks like The Day After Tomorrow 2, which makes sense since it's directed by Roland Emmerich.

It's as if the filmmakers are convinced that 2012 really will be the end of the world so they decided to put together the world's most epic series of action cliches and visual diarrhea that they possibly could in a single film before the end.

I'm sure it will be full of laughs, so I guess it has that going for it.

The "Shining" trailer was pretty cool, I'll give it that.

Unlikely I will go to the theater for it, but count me in for some Blu-Ray action.

These kind of movies are one of my many secret shames...

If Danny Glover doesn't say "I'm too old for this shit!" one time throughout this movie, I'm gonna go club some baby seals.

Re: 2012 - Wow, this truly looks like an abomination.

it's got a great cast:
John Cusack
Thandie Newton
Woody Harrelson
Amanda Peet
Morgan Lily
Danny Glover
Oliver Platt
Chiwetel Ejiofor
George Segal

can't be all bad

this is going to be horrible, but I love disaster films and this one looks epic! Too bad that trailer had enough cheese for one entire movie's worth, you know the movie will be unbearable.

I don't know about the plot, but this looks pretty spectacular. The action and the effects seem very real, so the movie actually looks kind of scary.

I know the hey-dey of disaster thrillers is gone, but this movie, despite expected story lulls, could be amazing.

Funny how people like starting threads for movies they claim is an "abomination". You'd think they'd just keep it to themselves and not even spread the word for it. Anyway, thanks for the heads-up! No one destroys the earth in the movies better than Emmerich. I'll watch it.

I'll see it. It can't be worse than 10000BC right?

Well, hopefully this movie has a plot. I mean the great thing about Independence Day and Star Gage was that they at least had a plot. The Day After Tomorrow didn't have a plot at all.

Looks like a fun disaster movie with a good cast. I don't expect it to be up for Best Picture. I expect to see a bunch of shit blow up...looks like a fun mindless flick.

Re: 2012 - Wow, this truly looks like an abomination.

It has a pretty good cast and the special effects look spectacular. I am sure it will suffer from some of the general pitfalls of disaster flicks, but I think I'll check it out. Independence day was great movie; it did a good job of making the alien invasion plot original and interesting and the characters were all great too. The Day After Tomorrow as awful. This one looks to be more like Independence Day in terms of quality.

I get two things from that trailer. The movie looks awful. And I must go see it.

Sony made a poor decision moving 2012 to November instead of it's original July slot.

That's an awful cast. There isn't a single person on that list, with the possible exception of George Segal, who I would look forward to seeing in a movie. Maybe if you put them all together, the result would be such sheer lunacy that it might be entertaining, but it's doubtful. Emmerich has gotten good results from eclectic casts before, but Will Smith, Vivica Fox, Randy Quaid, Dennis Quaid, and Emmy Rossum had a lot more trashy movie starpower than this bunch.

I have been boycotting all Amanda Peet movies since her campaign to inject autism into our children.

Trailer has me sold - love me some destruction... I just hope it's not as bad as 10,000 BC.
