What happened to Heather Graham?

She seemed like somebody who would be still making big movies every year but I have not seen her a lot recently except for a couple of low budget movies and made for cable movies.

When did she jump the shark?

did her acting skills catch up to her or did she rub people in hollywood the wrong way?

She rewarded us with several shots of nudity and a sex scene here and there and it is sad that a talent like that has gone to waste.

There was one love scene in Adrift in Manhatten where she was at her best.

Immediately following the expanded release of License to Drive. There simply was nowhere to go but down.

^Agreed. Her performance in License to Drive was the end of the golden age of cinema.

I still am, and Boogie nights and Killing Me Softly was a gift from God.

I thought she was outstanding on Scrubs as a comedic actress, but painful to watch in the second Austin Powers movie. She's strange - I've seen her be both great and terrible. Maybe she had a little too much terrible.

Boogie Nights is in my top 10 favorites of all time, and not just because Heather Graham is so other-worldly hot. Though her nude scene is a gift from God.

I wonder if her highly publicized comment that 'religion is for the weak and the weak minded' played a role in her departure from the 'A' film sets. That got a lot of press and and lot of so called 'public outcry' with talk of 'boycotting' her movies.

I never really liked her. Boogie Nights is one of my favorite movies and she was decent in that, but that's about all I could take from her.

Are you saying that the movie going public doesn't like the truth?

I doubt this played a huge factori, those movie "boycotts" almost never amount to any actual results.

Really? This is the first I've heard of it.

Anyway, she was hot as hell, but a shitty actress. Once she got older, the roles naturally faded. She's probably old enough now to play "Mom" in some Disney singing-teen movie.

If so, that would be a shame...because she's right, LOL.

But really, I have never heard a thing about that comment until this thread.

Also had never heard of her saying anything like that. She never struck me as an actress with any talent, if you don't count looking ridiculously hot naked.

She plays "Heather Graham" in all her roles. Lousy actress. But I still like her a bit.

She still looks hot and has not aged.

Maybe she makes a comeback if she has a role in a future summer blockbuster.

I thought Brendan Fraser was done until he made Journey to the Center of the Earth and I was surprised he was in a big movie again.

I don't hate Fraser but he had been flying under the radar for a while after huge early success.

Hard to believe she's 38. Looks at least 10 years younger than she is.

I tried to find a Google search on that religion quote, but nothing turned up. I think Mabuse is confusing her with another actress?

Her "coke talk" with Julianne Moore in Boogie Nights was great. If this thread devolves into a JPG post-a-thon, so be it!

No man.

It was a kind of big deal. I saw it on television for a few nights, on more than one occasion. The Catholics were all mad about it because she went on a tear about the Catholic church on another occasion too.

A person like Tom Cruise who guarantees asses in seats can do freaky shit and still be in movies, lesser actresses/actors can just have people decide not to use them if they bring potential baggage.

I see what you were talking about on Google though.

This is one of the things I did find, but nothing about the "religion is for the weak" stuff.

Catholic League Tells Heather Graham To See A Priest

Angered Catholics have responded to Heather Graham's tirade against their Church's alleged repression of sexuality - by saying the sexy actress needs counselling. William Donohue, head of the American Catholic League, says Graham's comments to Talk magazine that the church "is made up of closed-minded men who believe a woman's sexuality is evil", show she has severe sexual hang-ups herself, and is going to extreme lengths to resolve them. Donohue says, "Poor Heather. Life has been so unfair to her. Having been subjected to the sexual reticence of the Catholic Church, she is now free as a bird to throw off all her shackles. So she now accepts film roles posing either as a slut or porn star...It is our hope that Heather soon gets a grip on her sexual hang ups." Donohue adds, "She doesn't need therapy - just some counselling from a priest."
