What happened to Heather Graham?

She's hot, and an ok actress. I imagine she'll have bit parts in crappy movies, have a bit part in a decent movie, then some costarring roles in rom-coms.

Agree with her whole-heartedly. Not surprised there was backlash, though.

Winona Ryder and Christian Slater brought upon her downfall.

Uch, I hate Ana Farris. I find her neither funny nor attractive. I'd rather watch Heather Graham till she was 70 than Ana Farris, and I'm not a huge fan of Graham (I am, however, a huge fan of her body).

Basically, she had an encounter with fame and failed to sustain it.
Really, her story is not all that different from a lot of actor's: she stormed out of the gate with a plum part with two huge actors (yes, I mean the two Coreys) and took smaller ensemble parts in cult items (Twin Peaks, Drugstore Cowboy, I Love You to Death). But nothing really gave her access to a higher level of actors and directors to work with, so she spent several years grinding it out on the film circuit, taking minor roles in semi-famous movies or large roles in mostly forgotten movies until she had a pretty spectacular run of films there were acclaimed, notorious and/or popular (Boogie Nights, Two Girls and a Guy, Scream 2, Swingers). She smartly took on a role in a guaranteed blockbuster (the second Austin Powers movie), which gave her the clout to start headlining movies.
And that's where she made her mistake. As it's been pointed out, she doesn't have the acting chops to anchor a film; combine that with bad script choices and it was only a matter of time before she fell out of the spotlight again (I think at some point she was gaining more attention for her romances with Heath Ledger and Ed Burns than she was for her movies). Like an earlier post said, she's certainly not hurting for work, she still looks youthful and still has a killer body, but it's pretty obvious she's never again going to reach the heights she did in the late 90's: look at that show she headlined on ABC a couple of years ago--she actually made the cover of Time or Newsweek the week of its premiere, and it blew up in her face when it was canceled about two weeks later.
I always thought she was at her best as part of an ensemble (Drugstore Cowboy, Boogie Nights), especially if it was comedic (she was absolutely killer in Bowfinger and did well on her stints on Scrubs and Arrested Development). As she gets older, when decent roles for women quickly dry up, if she wants any type of comeback her best path would be to start seeking out more of those roles.
