SNL Season 2 LE $24.99 at Target

Target seems to have done a reset on their boxset aisle. New addition that I noticed is the above item.

The LE is the fancier book-style packaging. It comes with a little collectible photobook. However, I think some people reported the slimmed down s1 coming with the book as well.

I paid $30 for the first season and this one is currently 41.99 at Amazon. The collector in me also likes to keep shows consistent packaging-wise on the shelf.

The 3 sets I saw on the shelf were a little beat up, so good luck finding a nice copy.

Season 1 (slimmed down) is on the shelf next to it at the same price.

Thanks for the tip! I picked my copy up yesterday - it was one of two left on the shelf.

I'm waiting for the 1979 Season for the classic Bowie performances.

I am waiting for the Spade, Farley era but 24.99 is one heck of a deal for season 2. Heck, maybe I will just buy it anyway, thanks!

Wasn't S1 like $20 a few months back? I picked it up at that price IIRC.

Yes. S1 was around the same price at Wal-Mart.

I guess I'm going to Target tomorrow to pick up S2.

Yep, I saw this too. They only had the smaller packaging at mine too.

FYI, keep looking, I got the season 1 LE at Target for 19.99 a couple of months ago. They only had one LE (and 1 smaller) and it was a little beat up (not mint), but still a good deal!

1st we have to make it up to the eddie murphy, billy crystal, martin short years. personally, I think we will be lucky if we get to complete the 1st 5 seasons with the original cast. look what happened with mad tv, 1st season release then no more.

Except (snarky comments about madtv's quality aside)--SNL is a HELL of a lot more popular. Of course there's likely to be a dive when we hit the early 80s (I think that's the first slump, popularity wise) and surviving that might be different...

The LE set of Season 2 is $26 at buy.com, has been at that price for a few weeks now. Certain cashback portals (hint: rebation.com) give 9% on your purchases at buy.com, making it ~$23.67 shipped.

Did you actually order and receive the limited packaging? A lot of them continue to picture it and then send the non limited version.

I bought this the other day, but it was the non-LE packaging. Went back a couple days later and they had one copy of the LE packaging mixed in with the others, but it was pretty banged up. I don't mind the different cases other than consistency on the shelf. I'll just pick up the next 30 seasons in the smaller packs and it will be ok.

Probably noted in the long FYE thread, but for the record, the first three SNL Seasons are part of a B1G1 sale at fye.com right now. Seasons 1 and 2 are $39.99 apiece (or $35.99 if you have a Backstage Pass card), and Season 3 is $59.99 ($53.99 after the BP discount). And it appears that Season 2 and 3 are the LE's. So basically you could get two copies of Season 2 LE for twenty bucks apiece (or $18 apiece with BP discount) plus tax, and then sell (or gift) one of them.

Enter promo code P14B1G1TV in the shopping cart to activate the B1G1 pricing.

Wow. That was a quick change. I can verify that I checked the link ktg provided last night and they were much cheaper. I was eyeballing the Star Wars trilogy sets but they've went up from $31.49 to $44.99 between last night and this morning.

Yikes, I'm glad I bought them before FYE jacked them up. Interesting that only some titles were adjusted upward. The Drawn Together and James Bond titles, for example, didn't change.

Since you asked---I bought two copies of Season 2 at buy.com , then 2 copies of Season 3 from FYE. They're all spoken for. I'm keeping a Season 2 and Season 3 box for my own collection, and the other two are going to be an Xmas gift for my sister.

Wasn't shopping for them (already own), but I saw both Season 1 & Season 2 for $17.99 today. (St. Louis Park, MN.) Non-limited packaging.

I hope we see deals on Season 3 when #4 is out.
