All store exclusives and freebies - 10/12/08 to 10/18/08
These weekly threads are for the posting and discussion of that particular week's store exclusives and freebies.
These lists will likely be incomplete until Thursday or so, since DVDs are released on Tuesday and one of us needs to visit all the stores to confirm things.
Links to the master list and to the previous and next week's thread are below.
Volunteers needed: I regularly go to Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Walmart; but don't visit the other stores every week. If you work at or regularly go to the FYE/TWEC chains, Costco, Borders, K-mart/Sears, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster, Hot Topic, or any other store that has DVD exclusives; We'd appreciate any updates you could give us.

I'm probably skirting some bizarre rule as is by even mentioning it (let's not get into whether that makes sense, k? haha) and I think I'd be in big trouble if I took and posted pictures :S
(whether anyone'd know....who knows, but, better safe than sorry)

Kmart will have 4 Indy Lego posters, and Circuit City will have 2 lithographs. I'm torn between the BB exclusive crystal skull, or the lithographs. The pic in the ad of the lithographs was way too small to see much, plus the size wasn't mentioned...

It looks nice. I may actually be picking mine up at Target. By the way, if you have a Papa John's Pizza, with any pizza purchase, they are giving a $3.00 Coupon off the purchase of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull DVD.

I had a hard time deciding wither I'd buy Best Buy Indiana Jones: KOTCS w/the Crystal Skull or the Target exclusive with the book. Now that I heard the BB set comes with a free bag of M&M's, I'm set.

I'm definitely getting the Crystal Skull Bust, the Target book, and the FYE steelbook. I'm not too crazy about the rest of the exclusives.
Anyone know if there's anything at Walmart, Costco, or Barne's and Noble's?
I actually hope not. I'm ok buying this movie 3 times for those exclusives. But that's it. I bought Transformers 8 times and I still can't believe it.

Walmart has a lenticular cover to match the previous 3 lenticular covers they released.
Blockbuster comes with the original trilogy lenticular covers, but not the one for Crystal Skull, go figure.

Blockbuster has a free comic book with Indy this week. It's the same content as part one of the KOTCS adaptation from Dark Horse this past summer, albeit with a new cover. I also checked Toys "R" Us, Barnes & Noble and Costco yet found nothing, though it's possible the locations I checked might have been shorted.
FYI, the Indy Lego "posters" are actually quite small, less than the size of the keepcase and shrinkwrapped to the back of the package. Same goes for the Circuit City "lithographs," which are keepcase-sized cardstock storyboard images, also shrinkwrapped to the package.
Lastly, while not DVD-centric exclusives, Wal-Mart has 2 new Indy action figure 3-packs. The sets are exclusive to Wal-Mart, though the figures themselvs are the same as those sold individually on cards. Anyway, just FYI.

I passed on the CC lithographs (they are really small and just as I suspected, they are both on Disc 2 in the galleries section).
I got the Skull bust, the steelbook and the Target book. All three are awesome.
I went to Border's to check out the hat too. Its a huge box, but feels like there's nothing in there. In any case, no way was I spending $110.00 on it.
