Anybody with video issues on Patriot Games?

I haven't seen mention of this other than the DVDTalk reviewer giving Patriot Games BD a pretty poor video rating. At times I see an artifact that looks like a checkerboard or plaid. I noticed this several times but the worst seems to be the scene where they wipe out the terrorist camp. I see it when the helicopters are crossing the desert in the dark, inside the room where Ryan is watching it unfold behind the actors on the wall, and also on the back of James Earl Jones suit. I tried updating my firmware to no avail. I'm playing it on a Sony PS3 and my TV is a Samsung LED DLP rear projection TV. I have quite a few BD titles now but have never seen anything like that before. The disc is brand new and the surface appears unblemished. Anybody else have this issue? The only previous version I had for comparison was the old non-anamorphic edition.

It was pretty distracting. I thought it was the new BD player I bought when I watched it in the summer, but I've played a lot of other discs on the Insignia player and they didn't have that issue.

I've been watching Sum of All Fears and see quite a few digital artifacts as well. One scene in particular is where Morgan Freeman is speaking to the new Russian President while he is being photographed. The background appears to have a lot of noise. Maybe it's my setup but I've not seen any problems like this before. These are the first Paramount BD I have bought. If someone is not seeing these problems please comment.
