Movie Posters for my HD Theater Room
Hey Guys, I know this may not be the correct forum but I'm building a new house with a dedicate theater room. I spend alot of time in this forum doing research as I build Blu-Ray movie collection.
I'd like to put 6-8 movie posters in the new theater room however I'm searching for the textured style that I believe is on a canvas like material. I've seen some at Blockbuster but am having trouble finding more variety online. It's easy to find the paper posters but I don't want to have to frame them. The canvas styles are frameless, just wrapped around a box frame. I like the matte look of the canvas. Any suggestions?

The canvas posters in my experiences are really hard to find, and when you do they can be crazy expensive. I've gotten two "Freddy vs. Jason" and "American Pie 2" which my blockbuster was throwing away after the DVDs had come and gone. You can always try asking local video stores/movie theaters if you can have/purchase them once they are finished with them.

The canvas is a good idea, as my framed posters reflect the light off of the projected screen.

For those interested, I decided to go with standard 27x40 posters. The canvas prints were way too expensive. I got 10 posters ranging from $15-$20. Plan to mount them to a foam board and insert into a frame without any glass. That should avoid alot of glare. A list of the posters I selected below. Not all necessarily my top ten favorities movies, I just liked the posters.
Batman TDK
The Matrix
SuperMan Returns
Saying Private Ryan
Independence Day
I am Legend
Pirate of the Carribean - CotBP
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Robots
Wall-E

If you're interested, my friend does hundreds of different movie posts/stills of TV Shows and Films that are printed up on canvas paper and other types of material:

I know he has done a few different pieces from some of the films you mentioned (Matrix, Superman, POTC)

I have 2 canvas style posters that I picked up from the flea market that's over here, which I dig quite a bit. They were definitely on the expensive side though, at $60 for the Joker Why So Serious poster and $50 for a 300 poster.

My favorite poster is Species 2 which I was able to get at a local rental store for free.
It looks just like this video:

The ones at Blockbuster are pretty decent considering the price. I got a Godfather, Ghostbusters, Batman "Why So Serious?" and the cast of the Simpsons from them so far.

Pretty much what I did, except I made a mistake and ordered the small 11x17 posters during a Deep Discount Sale. They nded up looking OK when I put them up. Hobby Lobby did a good job mounting and framing too. I have about 5-6 more to do still.

lol! I just posted a message in the movie forum about where I can offload my large canvas banners! I have Spider-Man, Blade 2, Star Wars Ep 2 and I think I still have a Lord of the Rings one here somewhere. How much do they usually sell for?

Yeah, the man is gifted. I use to sit around our store all day and watch him draw for hours since we were dead during the weekdays.
Speaking of which, anyone grab any of that artwork that Blockbuster sells? They actually have some pretty nifty pieces (Heroes) and most are now 25-50% off.
