Any steps i need to take to fully enjoy blu ray and HDTV?

Last weekend i bought a Samsung 40inch 1080p HDTV Series 5 and i have a PS3 and i also bought an HDMI cable. And i have everything hooked up correctly (i think..)

And as i was watching Batman Begins on blu-ray last night i kept thinking that it could look better, i dunno if it's just me asking way too much or if there's something i didn't do right in the settings of either my tv or my PS3.

So yeah any basic steps i missed to fully enjoy the 1080p of both my TV and my PS3?

Thanks!

MOD NOTE: Please do not cross post across different forums. This is being closed and the other one left open since that has more activity. Thanks. -namja

Make sure your PS3 is outputting at 1080P. Calibrate your TV. Make sure it's setup to receive a 1080p signal and, if possible, displays it unscaled. (aka pixel-for-pixel, pixel perfect, etc) Minimum 5.1 surround sound. 7.1 better, receiver that can receive a lossless signal is best.

I just bought a AV123 MFW15. There is no way I could get away with buying a $1500 sub, but I could get away with $500. I bought a B-Stock one, and it should be available. It appears to be the best sub for that dollar range. I'm really excited, should get here in a couple weeks.
