Movies that would be GREAT, if not for one thing...

Be it one particular scene, one annoying character, the direction, a particular actors performance... what movie is ruined by ONE particular aspect?

For me? 'The 5th Element'. The problem? Chris Tucker.

The Fifth Element is the only thing I like Chris Tucker in.

I think Dead Ringers is dangerously close to a perfect film, except that Geneviève Bujold is an awful actress and I can't imagine her being the object of anyone's desire, which is part of the premise of the movie.

Evidently, Bujold was close to becoming Captain Janeway on "Voyager". Not that that show was anything special... but damn, she was pretty bad.

Geneviève Bujold was much cuter in Brian Depalma's OBSESSION.

"No Country For Old Men". The "ending" ruined it for me.

110% agree on "The 5th Element". Tucker actually makes a movie I would like into a movie I actually loathe. Just a terrible, terrible character.

Beautiful Girls would be a simply flawless film, if it weren't for Rosie O'Donnell's bloated annoying presence on film.

Beowolf-The horrendous Animation.
Contact-"I sat through that entire film to see the aliens and it was her goddamn father!"
Superbad-The presense of Bill Hader ruined the film for me.

"Lost Highway" could have been great without Balthazar Getty.

Agreed, the Coens sticking with that ending made the difference between a good movie and a great movie.

Godfather 3 was not savable...

the only way it could have been better?...

never being made...

the editing of 'Man On fire' was one of the best things about that films to me...

you have every other director on earth, and every other editor in earth, doing what is essentially 'i'm supposed to expect to be normal editing of a film'... 'this is the way its' done'...

Tony Scott is doing his own thing and it's awesome... i really liked 'Domino' for the same reason...

if you pay attention... and get past 'other people don't do it this way' and 'i'm not used to seeing this'... there is real depth to that work Scott is doing...
