Are the Weinstein's gonna release this version of SUSPIRIA ?
I read the Weinstein's now own the rights to Argento's Suspiria.
The movie recently got a new restoration and will be released in France as a 2 disc DVD set, the French reviewer gave the DVD picture quality 10:10 (!)

Check that clip out, it looks amazing.
I'm a little confused though, as Blue Underground just re-released Suspiria as well (that's the old -also great looking- Anchor Bay transfer).
Anybody knows what's the deal with the US rights for Suspiria ?

While they might own the rights to the movie, that doesn't mean that they have rights to the remstered elements. Knowing them, they will totally recut the movie, change the score and then restore what ever is left.

The Weinsteins have already released titles under the Dimension Extreme banner, however, they also have to wait for Blue Underground's rights to expire which is just in a few months. From what I've been told from my sources, we should see the release of Suspiria at the same time as the DVD release of Mother of Tears -- which should be sometime in the summer. There could be the slight chance it may be released in time for the Mother of Tears' theatrical release (which I believe is either February or March), but I don't see that happening as they're not the ones releasing it to theaters.

If it will be the same as this recent Italian remaster, than I'm not interested.

DVD Talk Ultimate Edition
I wonder if the company that released that Italian edition messed up with the transfer themselves? Since the trailer for the France release didn't look bad at all in colors and contrast.
And I'll definitely buy this if the audio is intact and correct.
