Your most terrible experiences of films being spoiled

Just wondering if you ever had films spoiled for you - films that shouldn't EVER be spoiled. Here're two examples of mine:
When The Sixth Sense was in theaters I was going to watch it, and one day before I went there I was talking to my then-girlfriend and she had already seen it by that point. So she said:
Spoiler:
You know, Bruce Willis' character is dead, he's a ghost throughout all of the movie
When I asked her about why she had done this to me, she replied someone had also spoiled it to her beforehand so she felt an urge to do the same thing to someone else... No need to mention we're no longer together
Next occasion was before I was going to watch Saw. I was reading something on imdb forums about it and came across a thread named "READ THIS!" I was dumb enough to open it and what I read was:
Spoiler:
The body in the bathroom is alive!
There were multiple replies to this freak from people wishing to wipe him off from the face of the Earth, but the fact is I was watching the film knowing what I shouldn't have known. It was one of the first occasions I realized imdb forums is not the place I should spend my time on.

I can't really think of any, a surprise is fine, but if it's an actual good movie it doesn't bother me. Which is why I never cared for The Sixth Sense, without the ending, it's just a standard fare ghost story that was fairly boring.

A few days before The Others came out, someone posted a Usenet message whose subject was
Spoiler:
"EVERYONE IN THE OTHERS IS A GHOST!"

EDIT: Spoiler space added.

Some bastardo coming out of a showing for The Village ruined the ending. I, unlike many, would not have been able to predict where it was going until at least the third act. Perhaps knowing how it was going to end from the beginning helped me to enjoy it more because I seriously consider it to be Shyamalan's best work to date.

Why would you not follow the example set by the OP and spoilerize your spoilers?

I read a review of The Sixth Sense that mentioned a short story with a similar twist. Thanks, stupid movie reviewer. Also thanks to the guy in this thread who didn't spoilerize his spoiler.

Citizen Kane-I don't remember where I heard it from, but I knew the identity of "Rosebud" long before I finally saw the movie.

The Crying Game-Boy, this one didn't waste no time on spreading the secret.

The Usual Suspects-Since this movie only had a selected-city run, a lot of people had to wait 'til video to see it. By the time the Oscars aired, it still wasn't out on video yet. And some damn reporter spilled the beans on which supporting actor won the Oscar for playing "Keyser Soze".

Phantom Menace-Since the soundtrack was accessible before the movie was, whose bright idea was it to have a track titled "__ ___ ___'s funeral" on the soundtrack?

Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan/Star Trek:Generations-Apparently, people thought it was wise to say in magazines and newscasts that not only Star Trek crew members would get killed off in those particular films, but who they were. Long before the movies were ready to be released.

The ending of Sleepaway Camp was ruined for me by reading the back of the box set when I was trying to decide if I should buy it or not.

The only annoying spoiler experience was when Hannibal (the book) came out. I was about half way through and while watching some access hollywood type of show they were doing a story about the book being turned into a movie and they spoiled the "shocking" ending. I was only half paying attention and it was too late. That pissed me off, I couldn't finish it.

Now in revenge I wear this shirt to Blockbuster...

The ending of Planet of the Apes has been ruined for countless people with the dumbass cover Fox put on it.
Spoiler:

Some idiot I knew ruined the ending of Star Trek Generations before I had a chance to see it. I know the ending to Million Dollar Baby and I've never seen that.

Now there's a thread: "Your most terrible experiences of films being spoiled by boxart or copy." I can think of dozens because the people making them are stupid.

The back of the Office (UK) Christmas Special DVD spoils the ending big time. It's a shame, because the final scene plays out so wonderfully. Watching it unfold was bittersweet because the picture on the box revealed exactly what was going to happen.

Ok, just becasue you know that Hilary Swank
Spoiler:
goes on to become Heavyweight Champion of the world
doesn't mean you shouldn't see the movie. .

I'm usually pretty good at avoiding spoilers. If I get the feeling a conversation or forum thread is headed in that direction I get away as fast as I can.

However, there's those rare times when I get blindsided. The most recent was Spiderman 3. I was at work and a coworker came up to me and another guy and asked, "did anyone go to the movies last weekend?" I hadn't so I said "no". The other guy had and said "yes, I saw Spiderman 3" The coworker then says
Spoiler:
"me too. I can't believe they killed off Harry!"
right in front of me. WTF?!

Is it really a spoiler if it's based on a true story though? That's like going to see Titanic and being upset that the beginning of the film tells you that the ship sinks.

Seriously though, MDB was spoiled for many US The Office viewers last season.

OF COURSE IT IS , 99.9% of the people reading that NY Times review don't know that guy's life story, nor have read the Into The Wild book

In fact, reading in advance in the review's very first paragraph about
Spoiler:
the guy's "senseless, premature death" "and gruesome fate" might well dissuade some people from going to see a wonderful film- if they're on the fence about seeing it.
Sheesh, stupid NYT! Stupid A.O. Scott!

First (and last) time I ever took methamphetamine orally (mixed in coffee), I sat down with my future Step-Dad and watched Forbidden Planet. The first ten minutes were awesome. The rest...well, I quit that drug shortly thereafter.

Actually, nothing got spoiled as in "spoiler alert"- but it spoiled the first time I saw that movie,
