In 1952, Le Comité du Festival Mondial du film et des Beaux-Arts de Belgique asked 100 filmmakers worldwide to submit a list of the 10 best films. 55 of those filmmakers returned their ballots. I love how Cecil B. DeMille picked so many of his own movies

Seems a little pretentious for some of these director's to pick their own films, but I suppose they could easily argue that their films were worthy of inclusion on any list, especially their own.

Also how, despite his huge ego, Orson Welles didn't pick any of his movies.

What I find somewhat strange is Luis Bunuel choosing Cavalcade. They would seem to be an odd couple, Luis Bunuel and Noel Coward.
