Director's choices for ten best films in 1952

In 1952, Le Comité du Festival Mondial du film et des Beaux-Arts de Belgique asked 100 filmmakers worldwide to submit a list of the 10 best films. 55 of those filmmakers returned their ballots. Should anyone be interested in perusing the results of that survey and the ten best lists of some directors - including Welles, Bunuel and De Mille - here is a link.

I love how Cecil B. DeMille picked so many of his own movies

Seems a little pretentious for some of these director's to pick their own films, but I suppose they could easily argue that their films were worthy of inclusion on any list, especially their own.

Also how, despite his huge ego, Orson Welles didn't pick any of his movies.

Luis Bunuel and Noel Coward.

What I find somewhat strange is Luis Bunuel choosing Cavalcade. They would seem to be an odd couple, Luis Bunuel and Noel Coward.
