Bob Dylan: Desolation Row (Highway 61 Revisted)
The Beatles: Tomorrow Never Knows (Revolver)
The Beatles: A Day in the Life (Sgt. Peppers)
The Beach Boys: Caroline No (Pet Sounds)
The Replacements: Here Comes A Regular (Tim)
XTC: Books Are Burning (Nonsuch)
Elliott Smith: Say Yes (Either/Or)
R.E.M.: Find the River (Automatic)
Radiohead: Wolf at the Door (Hail to the Thief)
Radiohead: Street Spirit (Fade Out) (The Bends)
Spoon: Merchants of Soul (Gimme Fiction)
The Pixies: Gouge Away (Doolittle)
David Bowie: Rock N' Roll Suicide (Ziggy Stardust)

Best CLOSING track to an album

Since we have a list of the best opening tracks, how about closing tracks? An album that ends with the perfect song is just so satisfying.

A song that makes you just sit there and say what a great way to end this album. Like the ending to "The Usual Suspects", how it all came together at the end, all tied up nice and neat.

Is there any better at doing this than Eclipse from DSoTM?
or how about Jungleland from Born to Run?

Those songs just put the perfect final touch to 2 great albums.

Opening. Easily.

Back in the day, record label marketing 101 tells you that you better put your best song first because most radio stations/reviews/people don't get past one minute of the first track of an album when checking out a new artist.

My top two picks would be:

"Tomorrow Never Knows" The Beatles Revolver

Man, to listen to that in 1966 would have been awesome/scary.

and "Whole Lotta Rosie" AC/DC Let There Be Rock

Just an insane way to close out the album, with some of my fav Angus solos.

Honorable mentions:
"Desolation Row" Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited
"Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" Bob Dylan Blonde on Blonde
"Sister Ray" Velvet Underground White Light/White Heat
"Send Money" Juliana Hatfield Made in China
"Better Things" The Kinks Give the People What They Want
"Only in Dreams" Weezer Weezer (Blue Album)

The only one I can think of right now (that hasn't been mentioned) is Meat Loaf's "For Crying Out Loud" on Bat Out Of Hell.

Radiohead - "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" (from The Bends)
Low - "In Metal" (from Things We Lost in the Fire)
This Heat - "The Fall of Saigon" (from self titled 'blue and yellow' LP)
Mogwai - "Mogwai Fear Satan" (from Young Team)

Of course I could probably think of a few hundred more, but these are the first few to come to mind that haven't been mentioned.
