i feel like i'm the small fish on this board because i see people all the time buying long lists of movies that i've never even heard of, so it makes me curious, how many movies do you own in your collection?

According to DVDSpot, I currently own 552 DVDs, 592 titles.
But half of those are actually TV shows and music/concert DVDs. Since you're asking how many movies I have in my collection, about 300.

Total titles, 256.
Total movie titles, about 105, but some of those are things like the complete Nightmare on Elm St and Ultimate Superman. I'm mostly into TV and anime on dvd, especially recently.
But don't worry about what other people have--unless you're reviewing their lists for recommendations/things you're not familiar with but think you'd like. If you buy dvds just to up your numbers, you're just wasting money. I've actually got a number of titles I don't necessarily regret buying, but if I could return them or sell them for the price I paid I would. Buy what you like or think you'd like and can afford.
