Franchise sequals with lower MPAA ratings than the original

What are some sequals that had a lower MPAA rating than the original that kept were either better or maintained the same feel as the rest of the series? I can't think of one.

This was brought up in the Fantastic Four 2 thread due to it being PG. Some others that i mentioned were...

Robocop 3 - R for 1 and 2, Pg-13 for 3
Dr. Dolittle 2 - PG-13 for 1 and PG for 2
Police Academy - R for 1 and PG for the rest

none of which improved or even stayed the same

Alien vs. Predator, if that's a sequel.

If the seemingly solid reports are true, the new Die Hard is going to be PG-13.

Variety wrote a blurb suggesting that Fox was definately aiming for a PG-13.

So enfuriating. Take the most solid action series in modern movie history and leave a stink on it that will taint its legacy for all time. Die Hard my arse.

I just remember being quite shocked at the 'bj behind the pedestal' scene...

The original National Lampoon's Vacation was R, but its three sequels ranged from PG-13 to PG.

Some of these have more to do with how ratings have become a little more flexible...

Is there any doubt that the first Alien would probably get a PG-13 today instead of an R?

Apart from rough language, there wasn't a lot in the original Die Hard movies to warrant an "R".

DH 1, there was excessive violence (lots o blood, neck cracks), cocaine use, boobage, "Kippee Kay Yay M-F..." and excessive violence. What about the movie is close to PG-13??

I mean isn't that why we love it so and why we are peeved at the potential rating for LFoDH?

Without the language it would probably be PG-13 if released today. I see worse every week on "The Shield" or "24".

I think the language was the least of the MPAA's worries on the 1st.

I didn't even know there was a Whore 2. So many unanswered questions!

I think there's a Whore 3 as well. BTW, the first one had to be the most tamest NC-17 movies I've ever seen (Aside from Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, of course)

I think 'Doll's got it's NC-17 rating due to the graphic stabbing scene.
