Trivia fact: The lead vocals on "R2-D2, We Wish You a Merry Christmas" are by the nephew of the album's producer/engineer Tony Bongiovi.

Known as John Bongiovi, the then-16-year-old later became Jon Bon Jovi



The album is pretty unlistenable, but Sleigh Ride is an interesting track.

Had this as a kid (when it was new!). I must not have listened to it much because listening to the sound samples on Amazon, absolutely nothing sounds familiar.

Bon Jovi sounds funny, though.

i guess i should clarify. I scavenge thrift stores in search of the best and worst of vintage music. I present them here so you too can search them out and enjoy them.

Hell, I've had it ever since it was first released on CD. Its a regularly rotated Christmas album in my house every season. Even my wife likes it.

I love finding rare odd records in the thirft shops, good job, keep sharing them

I heard they might re-release this album at Christmas and that it will be remastered with three bonus tracks.

I found this CD at Rhino Records! The clerk when I checked out said "I wish I had known that was in there!" It is in common rotation in my iPod!

Yep, same here (along with the Christmas album as I already mentioned).

I also have some other Meco record with a variety of stuff including some Close Encounters tracks, plus a K-Tel record with Meco's Empire Strikes Back medley. I have no idea where they are though, I need to find them.

Good question, I have no idea. I forgot it even existed until the Meco SW record was mentioned. I'll have to try to find it and post the title of it, and maybe a pic of the cover.

I also have that K-Tel record. I transferred the Empire medley into MP3 format not that long ago.

That was a great thread. And great thrift store find. I usually look at the books and the old vintage stereo equipment. I picked up a H/K 330c that is 30 years old and sounds better than any other stereo system I have heard by far. It cost me $25, needed a little cleaning and deoxit. Now it's my main rig for listening to CD music.

I have this CD too. Don't know if I've ever listened to it.
