I have a few hundred DVDs, good selection in my opinion. Ones I love and ones I've never watched once (blind buys).

It seems every weekend when I go for something to watch I take actual time to decide what to watch next. It frustrates me to no end because I do have such a choice, but can't ever decide on something to watch.

Does that happen to anyone else?

Yes...all the time. I look at the collection thinking this movie is great, this movie is great, but I end up not being in the mood for any of them. That doesn't stop me from buying movies though.

All the time... Part of it is the fact that I have seen alot of my movies quite a few times already, plus there is my wife, who once she watches something once, doesnt want to ever watch again.

I have about 2000 DVDs and sometimes I watch TV because I can't think of something to watch. I'm willing to bet if I had a tenth of that amount I'd have less of a problem.

Oh, I whole heartily agree with everyone here....I have a list of DVD's that I haven't even watched yet and I've had them for a couple of YEARS I think.

We [my wife and I] have a system. One of us picks 5 discs and the other selects from that group. Sometimes we just pass the stack back-and-forth eliminating whatever we don't want to watch until we're down to one.

I have a folder on my PC and also have a DVD with a movie poster for every film I own (2000+). If I fancy something and can't focus I flick through them and hardly ever get passed the letter D.

I have so many unwatched discs that it's not a problem for me to find something.

Great system. My gf and I have about 350 DVDs between us and we've made a pact to watch every single one of them together. Problem is, we rarely agree on where to start.

Think I'll try this out this weekend.

I'm in the same group of those with tons of movies and not feeling like watching any of them. I watch my rented ones from Netflix as soon as they come in tho!

I have over 1000 titles and can look through my collection for 30 minutes and walk away with nothing...

I also have the same problem of deciding. I'm usually in the mood to watch something, anything, but it's like whatever I have, no matter how good or how highly I regard the movie, it's usually something that I don't feel like sitting through at the moment. Even if I force myself to choose something, I end watching it for a short while before giving up.

I have a healthy personal "yet to watch" list, but my problem is most of the time I can finally sit and watch something there is typically a couple of other people involved, and to get them all to agree on something is a pain. No matter what I pick out someone has already seen it, or they come up with some other nit-picky reason to keep looking. With fewer selections, that proabably wouldn't be such an issue, but we would end up watching less period.

I do a lot of blind buys of movies I've never seen so if all else fails, watch something I've never seen. Just the other day I was thinking about the great movies that I've seen several times, that are essential to own but haven't felt like watching once since dvd came about. Stuff like Die Hard, Back to the Future trilogy, Star Trek movies, etc. have been sitting on the shelf in shrinkwrap for years. I can't imagine not owning them yet I've seen them so many times already I never feel like watching them.

I often find myself standing in front of the collection and thinking "I have nothing to watch." Now that I have to rewatch everything (new wide screen TV) I'm just moving in reverse alpha order - it takes all the guesswork out of the decision making process.

As of tommorow when i pick up casino royale at target i will have 2348 movies and tv shows on dvd, i never feel like i have nothing to watch, i just have a hard time decideding what i want to watch, cause i like everything i have alot so it makes it hard to pick one out.

I suffer through the same thing every weekend. However, I have slowed down my DVD buying to a trickle as I have come to realize that if I wait a while, that DVD I want to watch will drop in price or will have a better edition made available. This is the reason I mostly buy used movies these days.

Frequently. Most of the time I can't decide what to watch and end up not watching anything. Often I'll read a thread here and that will put me in a mood to watch the disc if I have it.

This is a huge problem for me. I have over 500+ dvds, some of them unwatched, and yet I have this blank look on my face whenever I try to decide what to watch.

At times when I'm busy and get to glance on the dvds, I often wish I have the time to watch one of them, but when I do get the time, I just stare at it for minutes and end up playing a video game.
