Sweet. Used to have the biggest crush on Kristy Swanson.

Oh I am totally excited! I hope they have a Craven commentary, but I doubt they will...

Oh wow! This news just made my day. I haven't seen Deadly Friend since we saw it at the movie theater in 1986. It probably sucks now, but in a good way.

I had no idea this was Wes Craven. Me and my sister used to watch this all the time when we were kids.

Well, looks like I might spring for a movie on SD DVD for the first time in about a year and a half.

I can't resist Bee Bee and the "Basketball of Death."

Haha, this movie has the most ridiculous ending I've ever seen.

I just watched this for the first time, coincidentally, and wow, THAT is a guilty pleasure without reservations. Any movie that features Ma Fratelli as the miserable old woman next door, let alone a horror movie, is definitely worth $10 from me for the DVD. And yes, it's all about the basketball of death, a scene that's not overhyped at all.

By the way, that ending? That was, uh, what the hell happened?

Spoiler:
He just put the robot's brain into the head, and yet at the end of the movie an evil-looking BB bursts out of Sam's body and strangles him to death. Robots are not necessarily organisms that can reproduce. What was this, Kafka or something?

The ending was studio forced. But it disturbed me as a kid and creeped me out, lol.

I really like this film though, and bought the VHS last year from a rental store to revisit it. And thought it was still an enjoyable flick. I sold the tape though since I was aware it was coming out on dvd this year.

How much did you get when you sold it? (since it's VHS, i'm actually just curious)
