I recently ordered 12 Monkeys HD DVD from buy.com and it said "sent to wherehouse" for at least a week. Two days ago they sent me an email canceling the order because of an invalid address and they said they would credit my account. That had to be some template cancellation reason because they shipped my other 15 orders with no problems. I ordered it again (it said in stock both times), so we will see if it actually ships this time. My only guess is that they are having trouble getting and keeping some of the HD titles in stock.

Buy.com didn't get their reputation for having *good* customer service. It took them about three weeks to get me my copy. No explanation given. They have a long way to go, and they pre-date Amazon.

Sorry, my set shipped a few days after I ordered it (although that was just a couple of days ago so I don't have it yet). It only cost me $44.99 because of the Google Checkout deal.

However, I still have not received The Adventures of Robin Hood from Bestprices. I ordered that with another title almost two months ago. When the shipment arrived two weeks later, Robin Hood was missing. I called them about it and they said they would ship it immediately, but I'm still waiting. I've have to call them again.

that is what is getting me a bit upset. I placed my order on Oct. 30th and they have been telling me for almost the whole month that the set in on backorder yet they are continually shipping out sets for people who have ordered way after me.

I think I'm just going to cancel and order elsewhere.

This thread is a perfect example of why I stopped using Buy.com years ago. I tried them again recently because of the google checkout promo and things have not changed at all it seems.

I was about to try out that Google checkout thing here as well. Glad I didn't.

Yeah, that is a weird one. Maybe if you cancel and order again they'll ship it sooner. It may be cheaper as well because of the $20 off $50 deal.

i ordered on 10/30 from buy.com with google too. ive been getting nothing but backordered emails so finally i cancelled it the other day and reordered it Tuesday with the new (and better 20 off coupon) and it just shipped today. I only ordered again because it says in stock and i figured they screwed up my order and it was gonna be in backordered limbo forever. buy.com sucks.

basically i did what the dude above me just said to do lol.

o yea I just remembered it took them a week almost to cancel it too. I requested it last friday morning and just yesterday I actually got confirmation that it was cancelled last night--it still said they might ship it up until then.

this is my latest email response from them regarding my order:

Hello Chris,

Thank you for contacting Buy.com.

This is in reference to your email regarding order #xxxxxxxx.

We apologize that the delivery of your order is taking longer than expected. Due
to a setback from the manufacturer, item #202945624 on your order is currently
on backorder.

We update our web site once every 24 hours. Occasionally, items run out of stock
before we can update this information. We are working on providing more frequent
updates in the future.

However, we do not have an estimated time of arrival. You will receive an email
from us once the product you ordered ships.

If you decide not to wait for this product, you may request for a cancellation
by visiting our Web site at:

https://secure.buy.com/corp/support/...sp?what=cancel

You will be asked to provide your Buy.com order number which is xxxxxxxx, the
billing last name and the billing phone number. Make sure not to use hyphens in
the phone number
field. You will be taken to your Order summary page.

We thank you for your patience in the matter.

Sincerely,

Edward

EDIT: I was going to reorder with the new google deal but I see the raised the price which would make a new order cost more than my current one. I think I'm just going to cancel and order elsewhere.

This kind of grief is why I don't spend time trying to save a few bucks anymore. Sorry for the non-helpful post, but I do feel your pain. For what it's worth, I agree with canceling and ordering elsewhere...better yet, treat yourself and grab it at a B&M.
