How Does Your HD Display Stack-Up?

Back in March, there was a test of HD displays, detailing how well they deinterlaced material:

Well, they just updated it for the 2006 models, testing also for 3:2 pulldown, and it doesn't look much better:

Their were only a handfull of displays which passed both

1080p24 HD players can't come soon enough, IMHO.

Oof, annoying. They tested only the low end models of the new Mits DLPs. The model up has way more to it and they didn't test it. Jerks!

Well even though my specific model is not listed, Westinghouse 42" LCD, the predecessor to that model was listed, and it got a passing grade. I'd say that's a pretty good indicator that mine is a passing one, too, especially given the model's overall glowing reviews.

^^^Yep, I have the 42" Westy too-awesome set. I just wish I could get BTB over HDMI.

My testing has shown that, properly calibrated, component is actually superior to HDMI. Additionally, you don't have to worry about the freakin' handshaking issues.

Have you tried VGA? I'm thinking of using that for my 360. How do your SD DVD's look upscalled on the Westy rather than the A1?

I asked.

I'm on my second Sharp AQUOS. I am pretty happy with it.

My main display is still a Hitachi CRT/RP HDTV, going on 5 years old. After doing service menu alignment I couldn't ask for a better picture.
