Country/Rock needed
I am looking for reccomendations on country/rock songs to make a couple cd's. I am not a country fan but I do like some Steve Earle, Eagles and a few other country tinged songs. Any of the newer country stuff have that rock edge?

Kenny Wayne Shepherd may work for you. He has a more rock/blues tinge to him, but is a fantastic guitar player. The only album I have so far is Ledbetter Heights, but it's awesome. Born With a Broken Heart is probably the most well known off of that album.

Big & Rich
Kid Rock (his country/rock stuff is brilliant, IMO)
Most of the "Texas Country" acts have a lot of rock infused (Kevin Fowler, Pat Green, Robert Earl Keen, etc)

Ryan Adams might be worth looking into as well. (His albums Rock 'n' Roll and Love Is Hell are his least country/rock-ish - more straight forward rock.)

Definitely second Uncle Tupelo and Drive By Truckers (more roots rock than country rock, but a fantastic band).
Also, Son Volt, The Jayhawks and The Silos are all great bands.
If you want more "alt-country", check out The Walkabouts, American Music Club, Cowboy Junkies, Giant Sand and (obviously) The Meat Puppets.
If you want more country than rock, you can't go wrong with the great Lucinda Williams.
Lastly, no thread on country rock should go without a mention of Gram Parsons (particularly his work with the Flying Burrito Brothers) and The Band (basically everything they did is great).

Bon Jovi is going more and more in this direction:
Blaze of Glory & Wanted Dead or Alive were early signs, but Who says You Cant Go Home is the most recent big example. A number of album tracks from the past few CDs not heard on the radio lean this way too.
Bret Michaels (of Poison)... his solo albums are country with a rock edge.

Well, then... let me also suggest Jason & The Scorchers "Essential Vol. 1". Incredible 80's rock out of Nashville. This CD contains their debut EP and the full album after that. Their best material.
(I just noticed this CD is OOP and might be expensive, but AMG said that an album called "Both Sides Of The Line" is almost identical to the one I mentioned).
