Nice episode. I like that we're getting hints of a larger overall plot.

Same here.
Spoiler:
The presumably evil girl adds another dimension to the overall story arc and opens up some plotline possibilities.

I also like that it shook up the formula a bit, and people for once weren't buying any of Dean's b.s. cover stories. That's probably been my main peeve with the show so far, the whole setup of:
"Hi we're from the FBI/Joe's family/etc."
"Oh, nice to meet you FBI guys/Joe's brothers/etc., I'll talk to you!"
Later >
"Hey what's happening here?"
"Well, we're not really the FBI/the victim's family/etc., you're going to have to believe this wild story we're about to tell you."
"Oh, it's a [insert supernatural presence here]... well, if you strangers say so!"

Any chance they have to break up that cycle a bit makes the show better, IMO.

Shit. I didn't know this was starting back up this week. Hopefully, there'll be the usual replay this Sunday.

Obviously there were a lot of differences, but I was thinking a lot of Wicker Man while I was watching this ep. I actually thought this was one of the best eps so far. What else has that blonde girl been in? She looks so familiar to me.

The Blonde's Nicki Aycox. She was in "Over There" on F/X as well as a few other things.

Well, the ending certainly opens up a world of questions. Is "evil" gathering together to strike back?

That's where I know her from! I watched every single ep of Over There; I can't believe it didn't occur to me before. Maybe it's because she wasn't as annoying here as she was on that show.

Pretty good episode.

I agree that it's good to see them expanding into a bigger arc.

Cool episode. They've had a "bigger arc" all along, but it's nice to see it come to the forefront now and then. I do hope it doesn't degenerate into an X-Files sort of "anything unexplained can be traced back to aliens" overplot.

Loved that they shook up the formula a bit too. Dean's comments about how people always see Sam's puppy dog eyes and listen to whatever he says was funny. The demon chick was interesting. Who's her Dad? I thought she was going to end up joining the guys on their quest (since they only have two main characters on the show), so that was a nice twist that I didn't see coming. Looking forward to next week!

My first thought was Satan. I'm not sure if the viewers were supposed to infer that or not. He's the clear choice for the evilest male demon guy.

I thought that may be a bit much. I was thinking more that it might be the demon that Sam and Dean's dad is chasing.
