Same here.
I also like that it shook up the formula a bit, and people for once weren't buying any of Dean's b.s. cover stories. That's probably been my main peeve with the show so far, the whole setup of:
"Hi we're from the FBI/Joe's family/etc."
"Oh, nice to meet you FBI guys/Joe's brothers/etc., I'll talk to you!"
Later >
"Hey what's happening here?"
"Well, we're not really the FBI/the victim's family/etc., you're going to have to believe this wild story we're about to tell you."
"Oh, it's a [insert supernatural presence here]... well, if you strangers say so!"
Any chance they have to break up that cycle a bit makes the show better, IMO.

Obviously there were a lot of differences, but I was thinking a lot of Wicker Man while I was watching this ep. I actually thought this was one of the best eps so far. What else has that blonde girl been in? She looks so familiar to me.

Cool episode. They've had a "bigger arc" all along, but it's nice to see it come to the forefront now and then. I do hope it doesn't degenerate into an X-Files sort of "anything unexplained can be traced back to aliens" overplot.
Loved that they shook up the formula a bit too. Dean's comments about how people always see Sam's puppy dog eyes and listen to whatever he says was funny. The demon chick was interesting. Who's her Dad? I thought she was going to end up joining the guys on their quest (since they only have two main characters on the show), so that was a nice twist that I didn't see coming. Looking forward to next week!

I was thinking more that it might be the demon that Sam and Dean's dad is chasing.
