What TV Shows On DVD Are You Starting This Year?

Are there any series that you are starting to watch and/or collect this year?

Last year, I started the year off by watching the entire Buffy and Angel series which took me about 2 months to complete (I had only seen a couple episodes before). Today, I started the Gilmore Girls saga (watched the first 3 episodes, very good so far, got to love the 2 female leads). I have the first 4 DVD sets and will be getting the fifth one shortly. Once that is done I may start on Six Feet Under, which I have the first 4 seasons of and pick up the fifth and final one in March.

My wife and I have never seen a single episode of Desperate Housewives so we have thoughts of checking that out on DVD.
But I never *buy* TV on DVD any longer, since I pretty much only ever want to watch it once, so we would just get it from Netflix.

i might start watching one tree hill from the begining, as the first few episodes of this season have been pretty good, and it seems like the show would be willing to try.

If the show does end, we'll all visit your home with pitch forks and torches.

I haven't really thought about it. I'm not sure I will start new series for a while. I'm well behind on Seinfeld, will be getting Newsradio season 3 early in the year, and have seasons left on shows like Homicide and Oz.

Off the top of my head, I think I'd like to hit the Apatow shows. They're on DVD, right?

ETA -- I knew there was something. I'll be working in Profit as soon as possible.

All from Netflix. Probably will finish Farscape, too.

I watched the pilot episode of Enterprise but otherwise I haven't seen another entire episode from any of these shows.

Never seen Lost but picked up Season 1 of that to go through. I'd like to start both Scrubs and Veronica Mars this year as well.

Almost picked up Oz today, but fuck HBO and their expensive prices...On the fence with Lost. Ive seen snippets of the show and always thought it was a little boring. But maybe Ill pick it up this year.

Sort of OT since it's not out on DVD yet, but I rang in the new year a DVR'd 12-episode marathon of HBO's Rome.

Might give The Shield a shot this year.

Lost
Veronica Mars
Millenium

I may try Desperate Housewives since a lot of people love it, but I have no clue what it's about other than what the title says. lol. When I first heard of it I thought it was probably some stupid reality show.

I also might give Battlestar Gallactica a shot. I generally don't care much for space Sci-Fi TV shows, aside from FireFly, but part of the reason why I loved Firefly is the characters were great (as usual with Whedon series) and it never felt too "Sci-Fiey". Plus Joss Whedon material just speaks to me on another level than most other shows. I'll give BG a shot though. I'm a fan of great character based shows more than anything. Stuff like Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Freaks & Geeks, Alias, etc. If it has great characters there's a good chance I'll like it.

I may also check out "The Shield", "Rescue Me" & "Rome".

4 days ago, we finally started Battlestar Galactica Season 1 from a blind purchase many months ago. We're now caught up with Season 2.0 (gotta love ReplayTV and SciFi's marathons).

We're hooked -- definitely one of my top can't-miss-it shows now.

Any similar shows that I should start looking into?

I am currently in the middle of Buffy, Angel, Arrested Development, and Battlestar Galactica. Going to watch Profit and hopefully start Oz, and Sopranos.
