You can't take the sky from me...Since I've found Serenity...
Thanks be to data miners basaro and AlfB for ☼ Serenity ☼, due to be listed at Columbia House on 12-20-05:
4315701 Serenity (Widescreen), list price $29.98, regular club price $21.95
4316105 Serenity (Fullscreen, I think)
Since I passed on the recent BOGOF codes to save my fulfillments for Serenity, I am pleased that they are going to have it, to put it mildly.

I'm brand new to this firefly/serenity thing. Based upon almost universal praise, I obtained the Firefly series during the DDD@-20% recently. Last night I watched the pilot episode (Serenity) on the recently restored PJ/widescreen. It is fantastic. Particularly the anamorphic widescreen presentation. The soundtrack is great also; despite just being surround stereo. There is little doubt in my mind that I'll also be buying Serenity from CH well before the time it becomes an enrollment. I don't do that for many single movie titles.

Ive noticed recently that a lot of DVDs from CH that would come with a slipcover in a store dont come with one from CH. Call me a dork, but I like them. On a lot of movies I dont care, but this is one movie, assuming it would have a slipcover, that I would hate not having a slipcover with. I may very well be picking this up in a B&M Tuesday.

^If there's a slipcover for Serenity I haven't heard of it. But the difference of paying $6 at Columbia House versus $16 or more elsewhere means I'll buy my copies at CH. I plan to pick up some additional copies at the $10 or $11 "sale" price to use for gifts. (I bought nine copies of the Firefly series and gave away eight of them to family and friends.) Don't want to wait until it is an enrollment.
And before someone asks. Yes, you can buy more than two copies of a DVD in December without raising red flags. CH CSRs have told us that they expect multiple copies of DVDs to be ordered this time of the year as gifts.

As expected, Serenity is now available from Columbia House, $21.95.
When used as a fulfillment, this works out to something like $7.86; less with free shipping. I think that people will be hard pressed to find a lower price elsewhere. (But it will be cheaper in a few months when it is available for enrollment.)

Received my copies of Serenity yesterday, only one week after release date. I have yet to receive a shipping notice e-mail and on Monday my order was still listed as "pending"; this is typical for Columbia House.
