24
Battlestar Galacrica
Deadwood
Grey's Anatomy
House
Lost
Rescue Me
Sleeper Cell
Sometimes In April
Veronica Mars
I've watched the first 2 episodes of Sleeper Cell and have not been impressed yet. Good to see Grey's made it and the Housewives did not.
Nor sure if they didn't count sitcoms or just ignored them.
Rome and SVU would be the only ones I would add.

Nice to see Rescue Me get some props, but w/o The Shield, this list is nothing.

So happy to not see AD on there. It's been terrible this year. BTW, it was on the list last year when it actually deserved it.
My list, in order:
1. Rescue Me
2. Lost
3. RW/RR challenge
4. Grey's Anatomy
5. Family Guy
6. Starved
7. One Tree Hill
8. Veronica Mars
9. Malcolm in the Middle
10.Medium

I watched the season premiere of 24 this year and thought it was the single worst hour of TV I saw all year. I've seen many people say this was the best season of 24 yet.

24 - Yes, still a very good show.
Battlestar Galactica - Never saw this one, or the original.
Deadwood - Season 1 was better.
Grey's Anatomy - Watched it twice, didn't like it.
House - A little repetitive, but the characters and performances are top notch.
Lost - Well, DUH!
Rescue Me - Hate this show. Hate Leary even more.
Sleeper Cell - Never saw.
Sometimes In April - Never heard of it.
Veronica Mars - Yes!
The omission of The Shield is ridiculous.
All IMHO opinion, of course.

My list:
1) The Shield
2) Gilmore Girls
3) Veronica Mars
4) Arrested Development
5) The Office
Honestly, that's pretty much the extent of the amazing TV on right now if you ask me. I'm assuming we don't count shows that debuted in fall 2005.

I just hope recognition like this will get Veronica Mars the Emmy nominations that it richly deserves.
By the way, I think there is a chance we might just see Battlestar Galactica get a Best Dramatic Series Emmy nomination.

UPN getting any nomination is extremely unlikely. WB hasn't gotten any for Gilmore Girls/Lauren Graham, despite terrible competition in the comedy group. Veronica Mars will suffer the same fate, even more so considering the drama competition is insanely tough.

I'm just glad the AFI -- the American Film Institute -- is telling us which TV shows they like. Because whose opinion on TV could possibly be more important than the American Film Institute's?
Next week: TV Guide's list of the year's best movies.

as to why 24 made the list over other, better shows. (Yeah, it was great a couple of years ago, but not this year.)
