Concerts on the agenda? For me it gets pretty sparse through the winter months..
Last night @ The Newport: Nickel Creek and the Ditty Bops
December @ The House 'O Blues: Fiona Apple

not much, other than the Super Furry Animals (9:30) and maybe the Echo and the Bunnymen Black Cat show in November (the latter depends on the scheduling and films at the AFI's annual European Union Film Festival)

I'm catching My Morning Jacket this Sunday, then Death Cab for Cutie and Stars the following Friday. Nov. 1 I'm seeing The National. Those are all I've got on my schedule for now, but I'm sure more will pop up.

Wow. Just picked up gen admission floor seats to Audioslave next wednesday! Can't believe it wasn't sold out, much less that there were floor seats available.
I didn't get tickets orginally because I have class on Wednesdays and will already be missing one for the NIN show, but my class next week is cancelled now.

Don't really go to concerts. I'll probably see a dozen club shows in the next month or two though.
Wouldn't mind seeing the Stones, but the prices are way too high.

I saw Paul Weller last month - he ROCKED, and he even played some old Jam songs.
This week though - this week is all about The Black Crowes.
They're playing 5 (!) shows in LA this week, and I'm going to 3 of them - I already went Tuesday, and I'm going back tonight and Satruday. They're playing at the Henry Fonda thater, which is very small and intimate, they go on at 9 (no opening band) and play 'till mid-night - that's 3 hours of greatness. Oh, and they will NOT repeat set for any of the shows - think about that - 5, 3-hour shows - that's 15 hours with no repeats - I think there might be 2 or 3 songs that they'll just do twice, so maybe only 15 minutes of overlap over 15 hours. I can't think of any band that does that.

Each 3-hour show is about 20 songs - so that's about 100 songs, which is actually fewer than the amount of songs they have.
They extend a lot of their songs through a lot of creative jamming - for example, Remedy, which is 4 minutes on their CD turns into 15 minutes of blistering heavy soulful R&B. They've improved 10-fold as musicians thoughout the years.
They'll also throw in some really cool covers from the Beatles, the Stones, Zeppelin and even Graham Parsons.
