R.I.P. Vassar Clements

Vassar Clements died yesterday. He was an amazing musician, one of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys and so much more. I'm sure most of you don't know who he is, but I'm sure this will come as sad news to those who do. If you care to read about him and his music, check here: http://vassarclements.com/bio.html

I met Vassar years back at a concert he did at Jesse Auditorium in Columbia, Missouri. Very interesting guy. I'm sorry to hear he died.

I've talked with Vassar Clements, and have seen him perform many times over the years. I'm 41 years old, and I was pretty much raised on Bluegrass music, going to festivals throughout the late 60's/70's/mid 80's. Bill Monroe & His Bluegrass Boys, and The Stanley Brothers are favorites of mine. Vassar has suffered from poor health for the past few years...may he rest in peace.
