Recommendations, please: 1940s settings

I'd like some recommendations for good movies set in the 1940s. It's not terribly important whether the film was made in the '40s or afterwards. In addition to just enjoyable movies, I'm also interested in films that show 1940s men's and women's clothing, so a WWII film in which everyone wears uniforms wouldn't really be what I'm after. Any genre will do. Thanks for any suggestions.

Casablanca
Philadelphia Story
Arsenic and Old Lace
Notorious
It's a Wonderful Life
Suspicion

...just off the top of my head. You'd be well served to do an IMDB search for movies from the 40s and sort by rating.

Heh. Well, not exactly. We're going to a 1940s theme wedding in a couple of months and want clothing ideas. I thought this might be a good way to get them.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.
