Are you sure? I thought there were some scenes where Portman is playing both roles (via VFX). I think Knightly is only apparent during the Gungan Forest/Ruins scene.

there are several scenes that it's apparent that Knightly is Queen Amidala. obviously she doesn't play her in all scenes but they have different facial features and IMO it's easy to tell them apart
