Blue Underground will release acclaimed Australian romantic epic My Brilliant Career, starring Sam Neill and Judy Davis in her debut, on May 31st. The two-disc set arrives with a new anamorphic transfer restored and remastered in high definition from the original negative, under the supervision of Academy Award? nominated Director of Photography Donald McAlpine, along with Dolby Digital 5.1 EX, Dolby Digital Surround, DTS-ES 6.1 and original mono tracks. Extras will include a commentary with director Gillian Armstrong, interviews with Armstrong and producer Margaret Fink, Cannes Film Festival Premiere with Davis, Armstrong and Fink, "The Miles Franklin Story," a poster and still gallery, trailers and a teacher's study guide via DVD-ROM. Retail is $29.95.

Great news. I was just checking the other day to see if this was in print anywhere (only Austrailia as far as I could tell).

Judy Davis gives a terrifically assured performance and the movie is one of my favorites.
IMDB lists a couple of credits for Judy Davis prior to this one (one's a short), so I don't know if it's really her debut, but I think it's certainly her first starring role in a feature.
