Karate Kid Movies Released Separately
According to digitalbits.com, the Karate Kid movies are getting a separate release on June 7th. No need to buy the entire box set for just one movie.

Of course a newer se will be out soon. I finally broke down and picked this up Saturday. The funny thing was at the same time I mentioned to someone that if they ever wanted a newer version of a dvd to come out, all they had to do was get me to buy the old one.

are the individual releases not going to be the same as the box set release? I understand that probably The Next Karate Kid is going to have its own case, but it will be very low for Columbia if they add extras or new features to the individual releases that aren't on the recent box set.

I'm assuming that these will just be the same DVDs that are in the boxset, except in regular size keepcases.
So it'll be a SE of Karate Kid I, a regular version of Part II, and Part III and The Next Karate Kid will be on the same disc. My guess is that pricing will be $19.99, $14.99, and $14.99, respectively.

"Who says the good guy...has to be a guy?"
LOL terrible tag-line on part 4.
It should read, "Who says this movie...has to be any good?"

Karate Kid: SE on 6/7?
I was just browsing through Amazon and I saw that the Karate Kid movies are being released again on 6/7 as special editions. Can anybody tell me how these compare to the versions that are in the box set? I bought the original movies seperately, but since I would double dip in a heartbeat if they improved the PQ and sound.
Thanks in advance.

i would go ahead and get the boxset.. a) boxsets rule. b) its cheaper to get the boxset over the individual releases if i'm not mistaken. c) the last one isn't horrible it's watchable and it has hilary swank which might be the first film i ever seen her in and she looks good and is a good actress.
go for the box.

Are you talking about the original dvd's? This boxset is a huge upgrade from the other dvds, and the Karate Kid is presented in Anamorphic Widescreen (the first edition was Full Frame). Go with the boxset if you can find it at a reasonable price, by all means, it's a nice set.

Yep, I'd get the first 3 seperate

I was at Best Buy tonight picking up a couple CDs and I took a look at the boxset and noticed the movies looked the same as the pictures for the releases coming out this Tuesday. It was only 27.99, plus I had a $3.00 off coupon buring a hole in my wallet, so I bought it.
Thanks for the replies!
