The Adventures of Baron Munchausen on 3/1/05?

I saw that The Adventures of Baron Munchausen is slated to be released on March 1st (according to the Digital Bits and Amazon). I have the earlier release of this Terry Gilliam classic, and am curious if this pending release is new or a re-release.

I saw that too. It's only a price reduction.

Hopefully this is a clue that a CE is coming soon.

Criterion should be releasing this along with Bottle Rocket.

POPCORN, Criterion is releasing these movies on DVD? Or are you just saying that you wish that Criterion would release these movies on DVD????

I think he's just saying that they SHOULD, not that they ARE. That's the only reason I've held off on Baron Munchausen. I'll probably hold off a while, but I feel it's worth it.

Regardless, there's no positive news (that I've seen) for Criterion to release these two titles.

I had the Criterion laserdisc, which had a LOT of goodies, so those are obviously ready to transfer to DVD... the picture was great for the time, but the current DVD looks better.

don't waste your money on this Superbit edition, how they can get away with stating this is a Superbit release is beyond me. Nearly every scene involving clouds reveals a lot little nicks and less pristine print. The print is also slightly grainy in places. The 5.1 DTS soundmix is average but really could be recaliberated.
