I haven't walked out of many movies, but my general rule of thumb is, if they haven't got my attention in the first 1/2 hour, I'm gone. Which isn't to say that I haven't stuck around to finish a movie that didn't grab me in the first 30 minutes; but by that point I think I should at least be interested to see how the story plays out.

never

I've never walked out of a movie. I came close to leaving the theater during "A Beautiful Mind" (which is the worst movie ever, hands down) but I toughed it out. I feel like I'm wasting my money if I don't stay for the whole thing. I even stay for the entire closing credits.

I've walked out of a few - usually it's only with films that I didn't really want to see in the first place. I walked out of the Village because I had to crap really really bad. We had snuck into it anyway and it sucked, so no big deal. Walked out of Queen of the Damned because it was terrible and only one of our group wanted to see it in the first place and when she agreed it was terrible, we were gone. Walked out of Harry Potter because it was awful... we didn't necessarily want to see it anyway, but we were waiting for something else to start and the deal was that if Potter turned out to be interesting, we would stay and if not we would leave.

A Beautiful Mind didn't blow me away or anything, but to call it the worst movie ever made indicates to me a person who hasn't seen very many movies... at least no bad ones, because I can think of many movies that are far worse than that one.

I saw theatrically, and stayed all they way thru:

Catwoman
The Cat in the Hat
Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2
The Alamo
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
Cold Mountain
Ang Lee's Hulk
Van Helsing

I've seen thousands of movies. I love schlock films and bad cinema in general, but "A Beautiful Mind" was a veritable mindrape. I'm still in counseling because of the emotional trauma that movie caused me.
Because of this, and Hulk, I will never again see a movie that has the name "Jennifer Connelly" attached to it.

I dont think I have ever walked out of a movie because of its suckiness...I have a number of times because of people talking, but never because it was something that I didnt like. I guess it has to do with feeling stupid for paying money to see something so bad, that I force myself to watch it as punishment.

I haven't walked out of movies, but I've turned off DVDs. If I do it, I try to do it ASAP. A few times I've turned off a movie half-way through, but that was a difficult decision: if I've seen half, I may as well see the whole thing.

Only time I ever walked out of a movie was probably 10 years ago when I left John Leguizamo's The Pest

I couldn't walk out of a movie, I figure I paid for it... Same actually with a DVD. I'll give the movie a once-through.

I like to stick things out even if they are really terrible. After about twenty minutes to half an hour, I think you know whether or not oyu are going to like the rest of the movie. I can't think of a film that sucked for the first quarter, and then improved it's watchablity. Bad movies only get worse.

I sometimes will walk out if the other theater has something I'd want to see. The last movie I skipped out on was In The Cut, so I could go and watch the last forty minutes of Kill Bill again.

Never done it . . . doubt I ever will.

I've seen a couple of movies that have really had my perception of the majority of the movie turned around (at least to some extent) by events right at the end (e.g., Natural Born Killers, Wild Things, etc.). You just never know . . .

The closest I ever came was at the free showing of The Age Of Innocence in college.

Never done it. Ticket prices are too high. Gotta tough it out. I've come close twice.

ID4 - sneak preview, free ticket, awful flick. I was with(same car) someone else though that wanted to finish it.

Wing Commander - Again was with a group and they toughed it out. I wandered around the lobby for about 20 minutes during the film.

What Finkpish said, If I feel a movie is still pure trash after the first half hour, I'm gone.

Most recent (that I can remember) moives I walked out on:

Romeo and Juliet
Any Given Sunday
And ALMOST Dreamcatcher

Luckily, it doesn't happen often.

I never walk out of movies. No movie is so bad that it isn't good for a few laughs, at the very least.

I've never walked out of a movie that i can recall. If I buy a ticket for a movie, ranging from 1.50 to 8.50, I'm going to have done enough research so that I can reasonably expect the movie won't totally suck, and I'm going to watch the whole thing. I hate even having to use the restroom during the movie.
Even some of the really crappy movies I saw in college, on the 20-movie-pass-for-15.00 at the student cente, I watched. Or at least sat through, goofing around.
I've send DVD's back to netflix not completely watched, and I've sold dvd's that I have bought and watched some of and didn't like.

Ive NEVER walked out of a movie until Chicago. about 1 hour or just over that, I had to leave, my IQ dropped about 100 points and I needed to save myself before it was too late. I have sat through some bad stuff in my life but I sat through it until that one...

Never. I paid the money atleast stay to get your money's worth. Plus, I think its rude to other people and the crew of the film.

I've never walked out of a movie and I doubt I ever will.

I feel that I have a good handle on weather or not I'm going to like a film before I ever go to it. spainlinx0 mentioned Ecks vs. Sever. I have to ask,...What were you doing going to that pantload in the first place? For the people who regularly are disappointed and walk out of films, I think they need to do more research before they head out to waste their money.
