DVD/VHS recorder unit combos worth buying?
Are the DVD recorders with a VHS recorder built in worth buying or can you just buy a dvd recorder and hook it up with a VCR?
Do they make dual deck dvd recorders like the GO VCRs?

They're not worth it. If one component goes bad you're stuck. It's also more difficult with a combo system if you plan on the use of a stabilizer. Yes, of course you can just buy a DVD recorder and hook it up with a VCR.
No, they're are no dual deck DVD recorders.

My FIL purchased one, it was difficult to setup and on the model he bought you cannot get anything better than composite to work for both the VHS and the DVD. If you connect SVid or component it only works for DVD.
That being said it fit his need and on the 27" TV the video quality didnt really matter.
