Just wondering which settings on your TV or DVD Player cause these White Highlights??

You know the things i am talking about!!
The reflections of peoples faces or foreheads are pure white.
Or if somthing has a lot of white in it it really looks exceedingly bright to look at.

Too much contrast or too much brightness or too much of both. Since you did not say what models your equipment was it is hard to say. I can tell you that some equipment has a specific white balance adjustment.
