In light of Warner's recent high quality 2 disc releases, it would be a crime if 'Gone with the Wind' isn't given the proper treatment.

Anyone have any news as to if or when this will happen?

I read somewhere (can't remember) that a Gone with Wind SE is coming this fall.

Hope they continue the "Night at the Movies" treatment.

I want a great copy that includes the 2 hour "Making of" bit.

I've got the Japanese laser with the 2 hour making of but unfortunately it's only dubbed in Japanese. I would love a 2-disc version of this.

It seems such an obvious 2-disc set with "Making of..." included. Let's hope...

Well, Warners is having a chat at the HTF tomorrow. With 2004 being the 65th anniversary of GWTW, I would expect some kind of annoucement tomorrow if anything is going to happen.

Let's pray they do announce something!

On a side note: Any news on another Warner Legends set being released this fall also?

Yeah. I've been holding off buying the current version after hearing the rumor about the 2-disc SE.

Me too. My collection feels a little empty without that epic, but that is one film I refused to purchase without the proper treatment.

Just in from the HTF chat: There are plans to release a special edition of GWTW featuring a new "ultra resolution" transfer.

When?

No definitive date was given. It sounds like this is still being worked on. Probably looking at 2005

As 2004 is the 65th anniversary of the film, it seems likely that it'll be out for the Holiday 2004 season.

I have actually never seen it - I've been holding off for a decent DVD treatment of it.
