Wyatt Earp to sport a new transfer

Over at IGN DVD it says that Wyatt Earp will have a NEW transfer. I thought this was going to be the first release of Wyatt Earp on DVD so how can the transfer be new?

How indeed. That's exactly what I was thinking. Techinically though, the first transfer would be "new".

I'll be looking forward to this DVD.

I was a fan of this film moreso over than Tombstone.

Costner is king in my books.

Very underrated flick. And so long as I can retire the 2-VHS tapes, I'll be happy with the transfer.

I hope.

Does anyone know if it will be the laserdisc director's cut or just the theatrical cut??? I read 11 deleted scenes will be included as supplements, but I haven't heard which version of the film will it be.

Theatrical cut. You can read the official press release at our website.
Dvdfile.com is stating it is an expanded version of the film unless they are wrong.

From dvdfile.....

"Next up is Lawrence Kasdan's Wyatt Earp, which will be presented in its full expanded edition, newly remastered in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby 5.1, plus the new "It Happened that Way" documentary, original "Walk with a Legend" featurette, more behind-the-scenes footage, eleven deleted scenes, and trailers"

If it was released on VHS, and this is a different transfer, then it is a new transfer.

My expanded version laserdisc is 212 minutes.
DVDFile is wrong.
That really sucks!!! Wish I had my laserdisc collection back again if this is how they are going to release dvds.

I believe Kasdan has stated that the longer version isn't really a "Director's Cut", just an alternate version for those who wanted more, and that he considers the theatrical version his director's cut.

3hrs and 10 min is good enough for me. Its been yrs since i've seen this film. Cant wait.

I'll always remember seeing this film as my dad and I were rear-ended on the way to the theater! By the end of the film our necks were pretty darn stiff...

I emailed Andy and talked to him about it, he said it was his mistake and corrected it...
