HS senior sellling his indie music cd on eBay
This sounds interesting.

Along with the CD, you will receive a small computer drawing inspired by the music of the band in the title of this auction. The drawing was drawn by me on my computer’s paint program. The drawing will be e-mailed to you after payment for the auction is made. The CD and CD art are mailed to your regular address (not email). E-mail all questions to [email protected]. Bid on auction for CD and not drawing…drawing is just a little bonus.
PLEASE BUY MY CD AND HELP ME PAY FOR COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, my name is Caleb Boddicker and I live in Greenville, Mississippi. I’m 17 years old and a senior in high school. I need to save/make money for college so I’ve decided to sell my CD. For the last year and a half I’ve recorded over 50 love songs. I’ve chosen the best 18 and put them on this CD.
Recording Process:
All songs were recorded in Pro Tools (the software 95% of professional recording studios use to record with) with a 24-track. I’ve spent at least 1,000 hours recording/mixing/editing everything (all of this summer and most of last summer were spent recording). A wide variety of instruments were used. Including: electric/classical/steel guitar, harmonicas, keyboards, gong, piano, accordion, banjo, drums, cymbals, pots, pans, tambourines, Malaysian Ang-Klangs, and violin.
Interested Record Labels:
I gave my CD to Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse and A&R man for Sub Pop when I was in Austin and am currently being considered for a record deal at Merge Records (Neutral Milk Hotel, Spoon, Radar Bros., Elephant 6 bands) and Absolutely Kosher Records (The Court and Spark, Xiu Xiu).
Handmade CD Art:
All CD art will be handmade/drawn and one of a kind!! If you have anything in particular you want drawn/designed on the cover please let me know
by emailing me ( [email protected] ) and I will do my best.

Caleb,
This is really, really good stuff. I played it for a friend of mine and he said
he swore he heard one of the songs on the radio. Have you had airplay anywhere
that you know of? To be quite honest, I bought your cd as a shot in the dark.
I'm always interested in new music, especially from bands who have a very
signature sound. While the vocals remind me of the Flaming Lips, the arrangements
include many instruments or synthesized instruments you don't hear every day - was
that a zampona or quena in a couple of the songs? (Andean pipes). I greatly enjoy
your music and look forward to more from you in the future, regardless of your
college plans.
Thanks,
and good luck in your endeavours,
Brian
Myself and another friend are new fans of yours, and we're both college
radio DJs (88.7 WFNP New Paltz) so they'll be hearing you here in New
York...
Thanks and quite a bit of love from us!

Hey Caleb,
So I recently purchased your CD on ebay. I think it's really really good.
It's pretty inspiring. I just started listening... over and over.
Basically... I've been on my fourtrack a lot. It's inspiring to hear other
young musicians like myself out there... just creating.
Thanks!

Hey! I bought this guy's CD. His name is Caleb. It's pretty cool stuff. Not something I can jam to while driving. But definatly a-ok to listen to.
Very, very lo-fi and unproduced. And the stuff seems like it's just what came into his mind. It doesn't seem like he actually thought about what was coming out. Sort of like that style of writing where you just write constantly for a period of time, and see what comes of it.
Anyways, I dig it. It's a nice effort. And he has one hell of a Lou Reed drawing.

Did anyone buy this?
I see he's also saying he's influenced by 180 other music artist AND movies.

He's good people, with good influences. If his stuff was a little more focused, it would be most excellent. *air guitar*
I guess his advertising is ok. With the movies, it seems to be getting a little excessive.

This is cool. A couple years ago I stumbled upon some ambient CDs by a guy named David Ladelfa. They're all self-produced and made on CDRs, he's not involved with a label, just a labor of love for him. The first one I liked so much I went and bought all the others. Very good stuff from an unknown, very much like Mr. Brian Eno's ambient works
It's cool to support the independents and not have to chuck more green at the overfed and over-paranoid RIAA

If his music's good, I hope he does well. And most likely he'll pay less in fees using Ebay than he would signing the rights to a record co...
Whenever people focus on the negative/s of the internet, of which there certainly are many, it's things like this I point to as the positive. Used to be, the most exposure local bands/artists got was if they performed in the Battle of the Bands.

What he was doing at first is cool, more people should be doing it. But pulling that bs with all those movie titles, screwing up other searches... Come on, "Influenced by Star Wars"? I somehow doubt any song named "Your House" is going to come close to a John Williams song.
If he's got any talent, it's pathetic and sad he's resorting to such low techniques. Still, I don't think he could do anything to sink below my opinion of the RIAA, so it's all good.

</small>I wasn't too comfortable about the original link to a live auction but let it slip by as I was fairly sure the guy wasn't Buford's son or brother or formerly co-joined twin.
However, now that the inevitable Buford Bump has occurred and it seems as if everyone has had their say I think we can safely put this one to bed. Methinks the lad has had his day in the sun.
