Sony DAV-FC7's ability to read DVD+R or DVD-R

I'm looking to get a dvd burner for my computer and before I do I wanted to know if my Sony system will play burned DVDs. On CNET they say that it won't read either kind of DVD, on Crutchfield the product features lists that it can read both. Can anyone shed some light on which is true or mabye have some direction to point me in. I looked on the sony site but it doesn't say one way or the other.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

I'd assume the worst in a case like this. I have a Sony DAV S300 and it won't read -R's.

Just an update for those interested. I finally got a reply from Sony's help desk and they have confirmed that the unit does not read either DVD-R or DVD+R. I just find it to be bad business that they sell this unit, which is fairly new, and they also sell a DVD burner for the PC that isn't compatable.

Well, off my soapbox for now.

None of my stand-alones (two different Apexes, one Phillips-Magnavox) can read DVD-R or DVD+R, and I want to get a replacement that does. Good suggestions?
