T.V. Problem PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hey Guys I have a Trintron Sony TV for years now and it has worked perfect and fine up until a couple weeks ago, the problem is everytime I hook up my DVD Player to it, I play the movie it's fine for a cuple minutes and then starts getting shaky and blacks out sometimes it comes back but then it goes out again,The only way to stop it is to hit the tv a certain way or moving the 3 color plugs in the back, but once you let go it goes back again, This problem is really annoying what is the problem?and How can I fix it?, Thank in advance!

Definitely no expert here, but...

When I first read your post, it sounded like your picture tube might be going out. But if moving the 3 plugs brings the picture back, then that would seem to indicate a bad connection or loose wire. The picture is fine for regular tv viewing?

Also, when you say "3 color plugs", do you mean audio l/r and composite video or do you mean component video? If you are using composite video, your temporary fix should only work when moving the yellow video connection. Have you tried connecting the dvd player to a different set of jacks on the tv?

From: The chair at the top of the stairs..
yep sounds like a short in your video cable, or maybe the connection on the tv.. I don't think I would hit the tv anymore though
