What about Fiona Apple...

Anyone into her music? Can you tell me whether or not you recommend it? I love her voice, and I've heard a couple songs (e.g. Never Is A Promise).

Also, does anybody know what she has been up to lately?

I bought her first album, and I really loved Never is a Promise; but that's about it. She always seemed a little too "tortured" for me I think.

I don't know what she's done lately, except appear on then-boyfriend Paul Thomas Anderson's commentary for Boogie Nights!

I enjoy her music. She's a talented songwriter and tasteful pop pianist. The production on both albums is well-done. Apparently, she is finally going to release her third album this fall.

Don't buy into all the backlash from years back. She's the real deal. Talented songwriter and performer, and I actually thought her second album with the ridiculously long name that was also ridiculed was superior to the first. It'll be interesting to hear the next stuff she comes up with.

As much as I like her two albums, her best song IMHO is her cover of "Across The Universe" from the movie "Pleasantville". Great video directed by PT Anderson on the DVD.

She's no Aimee Mann, but Fiona is worth a listen.

I've been madly in love with since I saw the video for "Criminal" and it made want to just grab her and [the following portion of this message has removed in order to prevent this discussion from being moved to the "mature" section of the other forum.]

I listen to her daily while at work. Music can be pretty moody, but I like it that way.

New album is due out sometime around September. I can't wait.

Are you saying you wouldn't mind removing layer after lay of lingerie from a beautiful 19-year-old? What planet are you from?!

No, she's in her 20s, but when she filmed Criminal she was 19.

I love both of her albums, and eagerly await her next one. She's one of the only good things to happen to pop music in the last 5 or 6 years that I can think of.

She's singing backup on "Bridge Over Troubled Water" on the new Johnny Cash CD.

I love her stuff, but I've never been able to find a transcript of what she said at that awards show that was so controversial. Anyone have it?

Dunno why people went nuts over what she said.

The first time I heard it, I understood what she was saying and agreed with it. Perhaps she needed to word it better.

I loved her first 2 CDs, and am looking forward to her next.

I'm extremely glad to hear that Jon Brion will be producing again. This guy is such an underrated talent.

That's it? Must have just been the S-bomb that upset people.

Thanks anyways.
