Since you probably have no idea what i am saying, here is an example. The movie The Transporter, the ending car chase is almost a direct ripoff/omage to Raiders of the Lost Arc. Another one is in Batman Mask of the Phantasm, Bruce runs up to a bike, and kicks the biker in slow motion. This is also a copy/omage to Akira.

In Swingers when they walk out to their cars, Reservoir Dogs style. Of course it's done on purpose, as an homage.

Many scenes from John Carpenter's Assault From Precinct 13. John Carpenter has said in the commentary that it's basically a modern day western, and is an homage to Rio Bravo...it's essentially a remake.

And obviously the scene where the gang attacks the police station closely resembles "Night Of The Living Dead".

Of course everything nowadays copies from "The Matrix".

A large majority of films done by filmmakers who arrived on the scene after 1990 have "copied" scenes...

Filmmakers raised on videos often don't have as interesting or unique imaginations as filmmakers that were raised on books.

The filmmakers of yesterday had to create images in their heads - 'today's' directors have seen hundreds of more films than 'yesterday's' and I think it shows in the work. They have not had to create from scratch like the old guys did. All the images are there in front of them. That is why there are very few directors from the last 10 years that I'd say stand up to most guys from before that time.

Rarely do you hear a 'new' director talk about reading books. Soderberg is the only one that comes to mind right now.
Today's guys see some obscure or not-so-obscure film on video or DVD and that inspires them and they almost subconsciously copy things. This didn't not happen nearly as much before the video boom.

Deep Blue Sea - many, many scenes, along with the same death sequences for the three respective sharks, from Jaws 1-3. I don't see this as copying, though. It is more paying homage to the original films.

I dont know if these are ripoffs or homages but:

The Untouchables using the baby carriage's spiral down the steps. First seen in Potemkin.

Final shoot-out in Extreme Prejudice looks mighty simliar to the climax of The Wild Bunch.

Craig Wasson witnessing some strange "going-ons" in Body Double just like Jimmy Stewart did in Rear Window.

There is a scene in Pearl Harbor that is virtually identical to a scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

That scene is where the German fighter plane is chasing Indy and his father while they are driving Sallah's brother-in-law's car. This scene is practically replicated in Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor. The Japanese Zero is chasing the guys in the car as they are driving to the airfield.

Don't you remember the line: "That car belonged to my brother-in-law!"

CHASING AMY's blatant, but loving, homage to JAWS comes screaming to mind...

Don't they steal that car from a guy changing a flat tire?

just saw shogun assassin and it seemed the three storms in big trouble in little china were directly inspired by the 3 masters of death. not exactly a copied scene but i found it interesting.

I always found the Requiem for a Dream/Perfect Blue bathtub scene to be interesting.

The wedding procession scene and the treetop fight in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon were copied from a 1996 Hong Kong movie called The Hero of Swallow. Ang Lee has said that CTHD is a sort of homage to the kung fu movies he watched as a kid, but he wasn't "a kid" in '96, and more importantly, he did not "pay homage" to The Hero of Swallow; he merely stole from it.

Spielberg blatantly ripped off two scenes from Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) for Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

Monsters, Inc. did a good riff on the swagger-down-the-hallway scene from The Right Stuff.

The second Bill & Ted film played on original series Star Trek in parts, using the same big rock (on the Paramount backlot, I suppose) as a set a few times.

Actually, this is no backlot--it is a real location not far outside of L.A. called the Vasquez Rocks...we now return to our regularly scheduled programming...

There was a scene from Not Another Teen Movie that was a blatent rip off of The Breakfast Club.

I think that was supposed to be a spoof, if you watched it more closely, you'll see that it copies basiclly most teen movies.

The humor in the film is quite subtle, but now that I think about it you might be right.
