I would like to submit to the court as Exhibit A: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

The prosecution rests.

Also, the scene where the Black Riders are sniffing around for Frodo and company, while they're hiding below the path, looked like it was taken straight from the animated feature as well.

From the IMDb...

"The overhead shot of Marion in the bathtub followed by her screaming underwater was an exact replica of a shot in the Japanese animated thriller, _Perfect Blue (1997)_ . Darren Aronofsky bought the remake rights to the film just to use that one sequence."

I have no clue why he purchased the rights, maybe it was just to make sure everything was right with the karmic cycle of the world...

Of course both lifted the scene from the book....

"...ProudFEET!' shouted an elderly hobbit from the back of the pavilion. His name of course was Proudfoot and well merited;
his feet were large, exceptionally furry, and both on the table."

The ripping a person out of the side of van when they think the are safe scene in Darkness Falls is a rip from the end of Phantasm 2:The Ball is Back.

It's obvous that Neo's Kung-Fu style in The Matrix Reloaded was stolen from this film: http://webpages.charter.net/garrison6328/movieclip.mpg

While Jay & Silent Bob may have a bunch of references it is supposed to so I submit

Worst offender hands down... drumroll please....

The Mummy Returns

It seemed as if every other scene was ripped from another movie. And not done well at all. There is such a thing as homage and then there is rip-off.

Mummy Rip-off...er..Returns

In The Matrix Reloaded, Morpheus' sermon in the caves is very reminscient of Maria preaching to the workers in Lang's Metropolis.

It's not like RAIDERS was an original idea. The JONES series is full of scenes inspired by the old movie serials. Too many to mention, really. Of course it's not like that's any secret and Speilberg and Lucas were up front about this.

In X2 the scene where Jean Grey and Wolverine have the "Women flirt with the dangerous guys and marry the nice ones" is reminicient of Empire Strikes Back, right down to it happening during the repair of the ship.

It seems like there is a book where a charismatic fellow preaches from a high perch to the multitudes below. I can't recall the title, however.

But not in a subterranean cave underneath a mechanized and segregated world, as is the case in Metropolis, and in Reloaded machines take the place of the upper class.

Anyway, the cave's the thing, not the speech. Maria preaches unity between the 2 classes, Morpheus speaks of . . . something I've already forgotten. And that fellow on the mount, well his ideas are just silly.
