How often do you buy CD's?

Good question, considering music stores are going out of business due to less/no traffic...

It averages out to once a week. I've got about 5 CDs coming from ebay, but haven't bought anything else in the past few weeks, and probably won't buy anything else for a while.

I go to the record store at least three times a week, sometimes less, sometimes more. I much prefer buying CD's and records in stores rather than online, regardless of prices. It's just something about the atmosphere and the experience that's just much more exciting and fulfilling.

I just dig music, man!

Depends... I used to buy a lot but as I've gotten older, my taste has gotten more refined/obscure/whatever... There are probably 10 bands in the world right now that are making music that really interests me and new releases are far and few between... Pretty much filled in my catalog titles long ago and have most everything from the 60's - 90's that I'm interested in. So, I answered once in a great while, but it's more like every few months I'll buy a disc or three... There's just not enough music being made at this point in time that interests me. Most of the garbage "music" that I've heard during my brief curiosity moments with the FM dial all sounds the same.

less than once a month. However, I'll buy $50-100 worth when I do. I also never buy new.

There is no rhyme or reason to when or where I shop. I buy 70 CDs a year real easy though.

Well I went from 7-10 a month to about 1 every 3 months. Once Napster went away I stopped trying to find new bands. Every once and a while I will give a cheap new cd a try, 5.99-7.99 at Target or Best Buy, but that is only if I can find somewhere to download samples of more than half of the songs.

It averages to at least once a week. I usually pick up 2 or 3 at a time when I buy them. (My favorite local cd shop offers a 10% discount when you buy any 3 cds (including used). At least it covers sales tax )

Depends on what's being released that month, I would say I buy about 2 cds a month if I averaged it out for the year.

As a music junkie, I'm constantly buying CDs, both new and used. I tend to steer clear of the mainstream stuff and get most of my purchases from the local indie shop or online. In the past year and a half my collection has grown from about 500 CDs to over 1800.

I've found that subscribing to the othermusic.com mailing list is a great way to be introduced to new music that you won't hear on the radio, especially if you're into indie rock and pop, free jazz and electronica.

When I go to the local indie shop, I often spend anywhere from $75 to $150 each time, so these visits are only once or twice a month. But then I'm constantly buying CDs on eBay and Amazon.

Almost nothing in the past 10 years. I've been buying music videos. For background music I listened to FM radio and now XM radio.

From the late '80s to about the mid-'90s I'd buy about 5 cds a month. I then slowed down quite a lot - I now buy about 5 cds a year - at most.

I go in buying spurts. I don't really listen to the radio, so it's not Like I'm out grabbing stuff (with a few exceptions of bands I already listen to) on release day or anything anymore... but I buy a fair amount of used stuff.

I find myself buying more classical music new rather than "pop" stuff.

But I'm salivating for the new deftones, and the new prince paul. And mos def, should it ever come out...
