The graphics in RTCW are good but the game is sickening like it did when I played Timesplitters 2
This is the second game that make me feel this way. There goes another game with motion sickness.

At least it's a demo for something that's not out yet. I got tired of demos of old stuff.
I agree though, the magazine's one redeeming quality (the disc) is very disappointing lately.

kar10,
Was the demo bad? I haven't played mine yet?
OXM states they obtained the 2 level demo early and it was still beta and not the gold? I rember reading something to the effect that framerates and effects/textures such as water have since been improved.
OXMs review gave it a 9.2. They say it's the best FPS since Halo.

OXM is wrong on this one. A 9.2
Please give me a break. If this game was reviewed by me than it would get a 7.0 or lower. Why are developers trying to do the same style timeplitters 2 had!?! Timesplitters 2 made me sick to my head an stomach

It didn't even took 10 minutes to quit this game.

yeah, i don't know what it is about timesplitters 2, but it makes me ill too. I love FPS- play em all: Ghost Recon, Halo, UC and tons of PC FPS's and none have ever made me feel sick like TS2. I even popped the demo in again a few days ago just to confirm that it would make me sick when I felt completely fine, and yup, it had me barfy within 5 minutes. Dunno what it is. But hearing that Wolfenstein may do this worries me. Loved the PC version, really look forward to Live capabilities with XB version, but if it makes me sick I guess I can't play it.

The Wolfenstein demo looks good - a little dark perhaps, but I could fix this by adjusting the brightness on my TV I guess. What I don't like is that they gave away the game's biggest spoiler in the demo. Sure, it's a really cool level, but they should've kept it a surprise to the few people who haven't played the game yet. I know when I first came to that level in the PC version, I wasn't expecting it and it got my heart racing. I'm all "WTF are these things??!?!" Even though the game leading up to that kinda hints to it here and there, it still caught me off guard.
I don't understand people who get motion sick from playing a video game - it makes me think of the kid who's allergic to everything.
Anyway - this game shouldn't be as big a problem to those people as Timesplitters 2 since it controls alot more like Halo does. TS2 has that thing where your crosshairs move independent of the world view and that's not only annoying, but I can easily see how someone could get sick off that... god I hated TS2. Anyway - Wolf does probably deserve a 9.2 I think. The PC version got big props from me - the multiplayer was a blast and a half, plus the single player experience was great. I plan on picking it up I think once the price comes down (or used since I already have it on PC).
I agree that the rest of the disc is weak - then again, the True Crime video almost makes up for it. Cripes I can't wait for that game... hope it doesn't suck.

so I tried the Wolfenstein demo and the movement seemed to be fine- didn't make me sick like TS2. The prob I had was that it was really dark. Hopefully the full version will have an adjustment. Seemed pretty good. Controlled well, nice graphics. I played thru the PC version, and this version was pretty comparable (though all I'm really buying it for is XBox Live).

Follow the instructions on the cardboard sleeve the disc came in to order a replacement.

Count how many times the word "Halo" appears in the issue. You'll run out of fingers and toes within the first few pages, so have a calculator handy!
